Just been in a meeting with a Rotherham fan who expressed the opinion that our good start to the season came to an abrupt end when Tommy Wright was given the push and that we haven't been the same team since. I didn`t really know how to respond.
Did it? Could've sworn it came to an end with the home defeat to Reading whilst Wright was still it at the club. Ah, well. After working in Rotherham for seventeen years, there was a saying amongst us Barnsley fans in the steel works, "If you want to know everything about Barnsley FC, ask a Rotherham fan! They're never right, but it's fun listening to them speak as if they are!" Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Tommy was sacked at the start of october and our last home win was in august. That means he was operating by some sort of time-shift mechanism from just over a month in the future.... Yes, he's probably right then.
Abrupt end is a bit harsh - he's obviously not watching performances - where even against Newcastle I thought we were equal - other than the spawny goals. but you can't really argue with the results......
Old Roy Walker and Mr Chips would have their work cut out trying to mock that one up. 'Say what you see'.
Some of our own fans think the same. Claims he was signing of the summer . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
