Why does the modern day football fan automatically associate 'showing ambition' with signing a player they've heard of for a few million quid. One of the comments on their says that the club should 'show ambition' and bring in someone like Victor Anichebe. Come on. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Don't know what winnall has to do to win some over top scorer last season top scorer so far this didn't have a bad game Friday night should have made it 3-3 with a header in front of the ponty that went wide but was far from the worst player on pitch. And I agree armstrong is class does he fit in our team? I'm not convinced I definitelydon't think him and sam are a good partnership.
Not showing that on the pitch though is he? Unless I'm missing summat. If hes 5x the player Winnall is he should be on 20 goals plus...
i really rate him tbh and i think he'll go on to be a top striker. i still think he needs a big man up with him though. i'd love to see marley up top with him. i don't think winnall arms is the right pairing at all
He's a class. Above us. He's making the runs but we are not delivering Yes he should. Have got 20 had the delivery been right
As a forward you are evaluated by goals it's your job. In a very attack minded team Adam has scored 3. Sam has 5 so if he is 5x better you would expect him to be 5x more successful at his job. Not less so. I like Armstrong I think he has lots of talent and may well go on to be a very good player. I don't think he suits the system we play and don't think he is particularly shining in it and breaking up the Winnall/Watkins partnership to accommodate him seems to have played a part in the deterioration in our form. I think he is more used to playing 1 up front with the ball moved from back to front more quickly to maximise his pace. The question is do we think it worthwhile to play to his strengths and change the way we play to suit him. I haven't seen enough in him to suggest that it is but I guess the upcoming games give us a decent chance to try this with expectations being low anyway. It would then enable us to make a decision on extending the loan (if we get the option).
I'd agree with that though I still see the Winnall/Watkins partnership as the best we have myself. Though I would agree about Armstrong's potential it's about getting your best partnerships on the pitch working together for me.
a conversation when your involved tends to go like this. Me: snowing outside. you: winnalls ****. Me: dasiy lowes got her tits out. You: flog winnall hes ****. etc etc
I really don't understand it with Winnall. His job is to score goals and he does it very well for us. As I said in a thread the other day, Armstrong seems to score the spectacular goals, not the predatory ones.
