Home and away to Birmingham, away to Cardiff & Wednesday, home to Norwich & Blackburn. For me these are terrific games to get a few more points on board. Not easy in the slightest, but that's the Championship for you. I'm backing Hecky & the lads to turn things round and prove last Friday's match was a one off (after previously going four unbeaten with three clean sheets).
Granted we're having to cope without Watkins for the first three matches. But that's up to someone else to grab their opportunity when presented with it. Others might be on a downer with particular individuals in our squad, but not me. Even if they're not on top form, I still love the way these lads give 100%.
The many low points we experience as Barnsley fans over the years mean the good times we've had in 2016 taste that much sweeter and are very much appreciated.
I just wanted to point out that not everyone has a downer on our club and players, just because we've been unable to maintain our excellent start to the season.

The ones who do have a downer are definitely a minority on here and (I think) also amongst the attendees at matches, the minority are, however, vocal and get noticed.

Need Aidy White back asap to give some balance - he & Hammill work so much better together down the left side - not in any way a criticism of Yiadom who has quickly adapted to this level, but other than Denis Irwin imho you need a left pegger at left back. Yiadom's done enough to compete with Bree for the right back spot.

Payne & Moncur to come back and give us a few options with an addition or 2 in Jan and I'm reasonably hopeful. Need to show quickly that shipping 5 in one game was a one -off. Very hard game at the weekend, I'll take a point now.

A pleasing aspect of this season at Oakwell is that even when we've been beaten, the fans still applaud the team as they appreciate that the lads are giving everything for us.

I think Aidy White has been badly missed and will be dead chuffed when he returns.
I don't believe we've seen the best of Janko, Bradshaw, Brown, Kay, Lee & Payne yet, either. There's much to be optimistic about and I agree with you about a couple of additions next month will certainly help.

Agreed. Dovetail the end of last season into the start of the current one and it's been a great calendar year.

Great to see more reds fans down at the well, and also more than a few bus loads in the away end.

It's a shame some people are always looking for an angle to put the boot it.

Just seen we haven't lost any of our last 3 at St Andrews.

The 5 0 win was followed by two draws.

    Easy easy easy

This and the other one ........great posts Big Lil!!!
100% agree and what a bunch of lads we have at present. And what a great manager. And that's me weighing what we have currently versus what I've seen after 56 years of watching our club. Whatever happens this season, we need to keep things in perspective; and that means less negativity from the vocal minority.
Hecky should post your two lists in the dressing room before kick off at Brum on Saturday.
    100% backing needed.

Aidy is one of my favourites. He is in a different class & yes, Hammill is a different player with him in the team. They read each other.

Think we'll get something at Brum.

Gonna miss Marley for sure, but I think after Friday we need to keep things tight away & give Bradshaw a run out up front.

At £36 I'm not! Some very difficult games here, potentially looking at 6-9 points I'd say which may seem low or derisory but actually, given the away games especially, might not be a bad return.

Thank you, old friend. Your kind comments are very much appreciated.
I'm simply giving an alternative viewpoint to others with regards to our current situation, as I don't believe it's as bleak as others appear to.

Flipping heck! I got something right for a change!:D
What a great bunch of lads we've got at the club. They've done us proud this year and are an utter joy to watch. It's been ages since I've looked forward to games like I've done in 2016.
    Thank you BFC.
