Again? I remember when Johnson tried telling us he was the best midfielder in the world, at his age level..

He looked to have great technical potential, he needs to get down down the gym and get on the roids though

Plays like the best lad at school. For himself. No thought of the team. All the technical skills in the world can't compensate for that. He needs to grow up quick.

Doesn't fit into a team at all, doesn't seem to have any willingness to either.

I like Crowley. Remember him setting up Wilkinson to score very early on the first game of the season - that first half Crowley looked a class act.

But he's a bit lightweight and inconsistent. Hope he makes it at a good level but he needs to do well soon!

It's a shame that skilful talented players can't get in to first team simply because we need 11 work horses who know their role in the team. We weren't able to see paddy mccourt for long because he couldn't track back, has hammills career been affected due to defensive positioning. Mouriniho drained out all Joe Coles skills by trying to turn him into a defensive midfielder. There are loads of examples of this currently and in the past. Would George best have been dropped for not closing down the opposing full back in today's gsme? We love a trier though someone who gets stuck in.

Even the greatest attacking players tracked back and helped defensivly.

You can't compare Hammill to Crowley & McCourt. You don't have to be a work horse to give the team shape off the ball.

Hammill gets back into position & at least helps out. Crowley & McCourt were too idle to that. As soon as they don't get back into position you end up with central midfielders sprinting out to the wing to cover & you're wide open.

Mourinho never played Joe Cole as a defensive midfielder, he tried to improve him off the ball but never played him in a role he would Makelele, Essien, Matic etc

Agree to disagree my friend, for me mouriniho took away Coles flair and cut short his career by not allowing him to play, hammills is more about after his first spell with us and how he struggled and is he more restricted this year that's why he is not creating as much as he is capable of. Mccourt, surely a man who scores and excites as he did could be excluded from the donkey work. Just my opinion well organised hardworking may win a few games but you never forget the great exciting goals.
