Similar to the Nice attack by the looks of things.

 

two people where in the cab and one was killed, wonder if it was the driver who had been killed when it had been hijacked

 

BBC report differently:

"We are investigating whether it was a terror attack but do not yet know what was behind it," a police spokesman told AFP news agency.
"One person was detained. The cab of the truck was found empty."

 

I've just posted on FB. This will become a daily occurrence very soon. You can't beat an enemy that you can't see. It's not like invading or attacking a country. They're everywhere. Paris, Berlin ..... wait for UK very soon. They're gutter rats. Driven by whatever gets them off by randomly killing families and innocents.

Think we need to await facts of incident before judging.

It is possible to beat an enemy that you can't see. You could argue we did it eventually with the IRA and the other groups. Direct action satisfies the impatient mob mentality and the need for revenge but just breeds more enemies. To beat them we have to take the long game, show that we are better than them on every level and show them how their lives can be better than they are now, but only if everyone works together to improve things. Sitting all sides around the table to get a peace deal would be a good start, but it will take a long time to rebuild their society.

Maybe its too simplistic, and having been to that Christmas market before I can certainly understand the shock and anger of the German people at this time, but if we try to fight them at their level they will win. We can only beat them at our level.

 

How can you agree a peace deal with a religion?

I'm not usually up to this type of debate but the atrocities are happening in every continent. In 'peaceful' cities. Against peaceful folk. I think you're more hopeful than me.

 

The IRA were a very different kind of enemy which gave negotiation a chance, eventually. Whether this latest attrocity turns out to be ISIS inspired we'll see but regardless there is absolutely no chance of negotiating with them. It isn't and never will be an option in my opinion.

 

I am optimistic that we as a species haven't gone through several thousand years of cultural and societal evolution to descend back into a feudal state like they want. But our governments keep meddling in the Middle East, and every time make things worse for the entire region.

You have to remember we are not fighting a religion, but a bunch of nutters corrupting a religion to further their own hatred and using impressionable people to attack these peaceful cities. If we remove the underlying reasons behind the supply of recruits then we end up with a few isolated nutters that lack the courage of their conviction.

Well someone is negotiating with ISIS , where are they getting their arms from . It took 80 years for the IRA terrorists to get round a table , No doubt in years to come ISIS members will turn up as politicians somewhere

 

i dont think its clear yet what has happened as sky news keep changing from the second man to be dead befor it hit the market to him dieing after been found but the one who died seems to be confirmed as polish
