Quite possibly at the rate Leeds fans are buying tickets in the Barnsley ends. Of course this is a slight exaggeration, but earlier on today an associate of mine posted on social media that he and his brother (life-long Leeds fans from Barnsley) had purchased their tickets in the Barnsley ends. Further I have been to the box office today to get my Fulham ticket. In front of me in the queue was a gentleman who had a Leeds Rhinos top just poking out at the back under his jacket (ok doesn't necessarily mean he is a leeds fan, but wait...). He then requested tickets for the match, speaking with a west yorkshire accent. He then ummed and ahhd a bit when asked what his address was, finally stuttering "erm i've moved since then". He then gave an address (which I didn't catch but the postcode was S72. Most tellingly perhaps he then asked for tickets for the "west stand, nearest to the leeds fans": barnsley supporters know that the stand nearest to the away supporters where seating is available is the east stand, and why closest to the leeds fans? Anyhow he was given the tickets without question so I challenged him. He quickly exited with a few expletives. All a bit odd or is it just me being overly cynical.

I thought a "booking history" was needed, in order to buy tickets in home areas. And why on earth would any Barnsley supporter want to be seated near the Leeds fans? I am very surprised by your post.

I thought anyone purchasing tickets for this game had to have previous booking history with the club? So surely they should have checked his name and address and if he wasn't registered or had no booking history he shouldn't not have been sold tickets.

"Your must have previous checkable booking history"....as always. l've seen Barnsley fans turned away for games without it.
    http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/ticket-update-leeds-united-at-oakwell-3499231.aspx

It comes up every time we have an all ticket match, it will do again against Huddersfield and Wednesday. I've only ever seen Man United, Sunderland and Forest fans in our end, only Man U got away without a kicking.

Any Leeds fans looking in, if you want a ticket l'll gladly get you one for £72, that will also sort me a free ticket out and your head getting kicked in by half the Ponty. PM if interested.

Me and my dad sat up East Upper when we beat them 5-2. We could tell he was Leeds with the way he was acting, then as the goals started flying in our celebrations and comments louder and more provocative each time. When the 5th went in he eventually snapped and threatened to stab us with a knife from in his sock and stormed out before unzipping his coat to show his Leeds shirt beneath. He said he'd be waiting for us outside, we could hardly stop laughing at this point. Safe to say he wasn't waiting when we got down the stairs and we had a great time taking the piss out of him all game.

Is the family area supposed to be just home fans only or are away fans allowed in there anyway? genuine question as I am just curious

Let them do it at their peril. Once saw a Sunderland fan jump up in the Ponty end. Big mistake on his part.

Also when we were in the prem we had some Arsenal fans sat behind us, roaring them on with Barnsley accents. Lass near us got straight into em verbally, and they didn't come back after half time.

If that's happened it's a disgrace. Don't blame Leeds fans for trying their luck though when we won't give them half the west stand.

Don't understand why people have to have such a problem about it - both ways. I've been in the home end at both Watford and Preston for Barnsley games, if need be I'd have gone in the Brian Clough stand on Monday and just kept my mouth shut.
But seems these don't have the sense to do that.
Recall in the Premier League season there was a lad in front of us with a Leicester shirt on when we played them, he wasn't causing any bother and the stewards tried to throw him out and everyone around was telling them to leave him, he was living in the area and had a season ticket - he just happened to be a Leicester fan.

With me now living in Nottingham and this game being on TV I think I'll just give the game a miss and watch on telly.

"Oooh look at us, we've got so many loyal fans that we'll even buy tickets in the home end cos we're that massive".

Absolute state of Leeds supporters. What a set of fannies.
