Doing the next magazine & want to do write ups of classic games. Seeing as we've them b@stards on the day, anyone who was there when we drew 2-2 fancy doing 400/800 words on it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRG0qmBGqE0&t=68m to jog anyone's memory!
One of my favourite ever games. Couldn't get a ticket in Barnsley end so went behind enemy lines on Lowfields Road. When Brendan came on I said to my brother "he won't score" then he said the same to me about Archdeacon! All the Leeds fans shouting abuse at Mervyn Day so it seamed rude not to join in!
For an away game, the most electric atmosphere I've been in. Anyone who writes about it will hopefully make reference to that tackle by Taggart on Sterland that put him over the perimeter wall.
I was there, aged 11. Still my favourite away game of all time. A 2-1 win with goals from Chris Fairclough and our two substitutes, Owen Archdeacon and Brendan O'Connell.
I was there, who can forget Taggart on his back waving his arms & legs about in front of us at the end, plus the Leeds fans throwing us our admission fee back to us, good of them
No worries mate. Coins were raining down on us. I turned round and there was a bloke behind me his face dripping red screaming I've been hit I've been hit. I said mate its just a pie as slap I'm the middle of his bald head was a half eaten pie covered in ketchup. Happy days.
Yes I was there, in the Leeds end with an old mate who was a Leeds fan and also happened to be the son of ex Leeds and England player Paul Reaney.
If I remember right, we did the double over them and we're the only team to win at their place all season. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I think we were the only team to win there in the league but Oldham also won there in the cup. I remember Chris Kamara almost in tears in a post match interview saying how Leeds were so dominant and Barnsley only had two shots etc. Shame Chris.
