    I'm hopeful we can get a quick resolution one way or the other on the Morsy transfer. It would be a shame if he was not available to us for the Fulham and Leeds matches whilst negotiations took place. If he intends to stay at Wigan then I'd prefer a statement to that effect was made asap so we can focus on other targets.

    On a personal note I'd be very happy to have him on-board wearing a reds shirt for the next few seasons. He's been excellent since November.

    No panic, just think it's better for all parties if the situation is resolved sooner rather than later.

    A player that we greatly missed - when he went back to Wigan for bigger wages.
    A decision that added to Barnsley being relegated the following season.
    And it’s worth remembering that when Morsy went back Wigan were in League 1, a lower league back then.
    So no sympathy for Wigan now.

    The previous season when we'd won promotion at Wembley in the Play Off Final, they won the Division 1 title. They were awarded the trophy straight after we'd beaten them 4-1 at their place in the final league game.

    Yes, they were relegated from the Championship, with Blackburn in the 16/17 season when we failed to sign Morsy.

    I only remember their division because I was unfortunate enough to go to Wigan on that Thursday night when we were 2-0 up and managed to lose!

    We were giving Morsy abuse, both calling him 5hit and in the next breath telling him he should've stayed, and then we let one of their subs score a hat-trick!
