In all honesty I am surprised that Winnall is moving to Wednesday but I see a ready made replacement in Bradshaw, partner him with Armstrong up top and go for it. Alternatively I would like to see us go for Paddy Madden of S****horpe, with 7 goals in 15 league games in league one and at the age of 26 I could see him stepping up a league. As for Hourihane, well our season depends on him staying. If he stays, we challenge for the playoffs and end the season on the fringes of the playoffs. If he goes we linger around the relegation zone, simple as that. Who would your replacement be for Winnall?
Easy one.......lets make a cheeky £450,000 bid for that kid at Rotherham (Danny Ward) similar age ....9 goals this season not quite as prolific as Winnall's record over last few seasons aaaaand his contract expires in the summer. Oh hang on a minute!!!!!
Rotherham have already turned down 4 times that amount for Ward but I agree he would be a good addition.
Bogle. We need to sign him, turn him into a star, let his contract run down as he will have "earnt the right" and then flog him for peanuts
Sorry Aylott it was poor attempt at sarcasm............don't mind players leaving its getting a fair price for our players that bugs me.....it seems every club seems to do it but us. When the new suits came in in we got the old "those kind of deals wont be going on anymore on our watch" etc etc. Trust is a two way thing.......with footy fans we are told nothing (maybe for the better sometimes) but we are expected to shell out our hard earned cash and trust the management etc. We just don't know what conversations have taken place, with players and management but we DO want a fair price for our players,
If anyone one in our league goes for him except perhaps two others we will struggle to compete wages wise unless the player can see coming to us, playing regularly and doing well will lead to a better deal down the line.
with the cash we have earned in recent years through transfers we must be able to offer as good as most - plus with our recent record of developing young players and enhancing their career we must be a very attractive prospect
