Was thanked this afternoon, by Sam himself via twitter for pulling off this super move. Well Sam, he's not done such a great job as I found out yesterday that a Full Back at Wednesday who's not even getting on the bench is on £22k + Bonuses. You should have gone with Jack Hunts agent instead.
These sums of money..... Just show what an incredible job our football club is doing against all the odds. We've had a **** few days for one reason or another and still think we need to be tougher in transfer negotiations, but just take a moment to comprehend how well we are doing. You reds. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm not one of them pedants that points out all the spelling mistakes on here but surely the 'g' and the 'e' in this thread's title should be a 'c' and a 'u'.
He then put another tweet on about how happy he was and couldn't wait to take swfc back to where they belong! Someone commented and said no mention of barnsley fc or the fans they have been good to you for the past 2 n half years. Then he put that scripted tweet on.
bottom line is he's a professional footballer. a bigger club, with bigger ambitions, have offered him quadruple money. he's not from barnsley and has no allegiance to us whatsoever. we shouldn't be that surprised. it's pretty obvious now that he was forcing a move, even before the window opened. bit of a sad end really. i wish him well, but i stop short of applauding him when he comes back to oakwell.
Thing what gets me is at blackpool he must of known it was likely to be his last game instead of giving the 3500 reds fans any sort of applause instead he stormed off chelping about the probley 30 boo boys
i was gonna mention blackpool, but i thought it was unfair as i wasn't at the game and didn't see what happened. but yeah, that, a $hit tweet and the Club statement does not cover him in glory at all.
Looking back and now he's gone. I'm thinking that he wanted to give us a decent send off. But was pissed off with the boos. Which is why he was chuntering and chelping. Anyway. **** him. Time for bradshaw to shine
Bonuses ? For wearing a tracky ? For me, never has there been a bigger contrast between 'modern' football and how it actually should be than seeing some of those lads turn up for Norman Rimmington's funeral - some proper laikers and men there. That's not to say footballers shouldn't be well paid, not at all - but the whole engineering moves through agents and intermediaries reeks.
His attitude has been wrong for me on a few occasions not just saying now he has gone.... last season booting ball into eaststand in a strop, got abit of criticism early in season and didn't celebrate scoring for a few goals, his slow walk and strop at been subbed agains reading that at blackpool..... worse than a ****ing woman miss his goals not his attitude.also the constant chelping at team mates and refs, and the time he tried to do stewards job after wallSall playoff semi chasing pitch invaders round shouting at em! Highly strung ar sam
Stomped straight off at Forest aswell... didnt see it myself but 2 lads on train mentioned that he'd gone straight down tunnel even after that finish to game. Think itd been on cards a while n actually believe the club statement
If the actual transfer fee was less than £1 million as quoted, the agent will have done himself out of a return, as well as us. Is 10% the norm? Probably. He could have cashed in a lot more if he had pressed for a higher transfer fee. Perhaps the guy is more ethical than it appears. Now compare that with the latest on Diego Costa, as I am convinced that it will be his agent who is disrupting him to move to China. Why would a player give up the prospect of leaving the prospective Premiership champions to go to China unless someone else would benefit. Like this player coming in to Man City, some are sort of wealthy slaves and no more, held by their agents, who act like parasites, living off their cut of transfer fees, so having an interest in making sure there is some media story about their refusing to play, or having a bust-up. Taken against that scenario, maybe Sam's agent was really quite ethical. He certainly got the best deal for his client, if not for BFC, but then that it his job. It still leaves a bitter taste, though, being on the day of Rimmo's funeral. Not good and won't be easily forgotten.
