That was a pretty poor display

It was a display that made one fear a little for the future.

When was last time we comfortably beat a team from a lower division?

As far back as I can remember we've struggled in both cups.

I wouldnt read too much into this result, it's been Barnsleys problem for years.

I thought it was an awful game and we were awful.

We beat Burton 5-0 in 2014 when they were top of League 2 and we were in League One. Beat Chester 3-0 but only after a replay. Other than that we're utterly hopeless and turn up thinking we can piss it against lower league sides.

On the game, if the effort wasn't there then it must have been a poor display. If the effort was there (and I've no reason to believe it wasn't) and the quality wasn't, it's still a poor display surely?

Plenty of effort, plenty of possession, but a mixture of Blackpool defending well and us not taking our chances, and Blackpool always had a goal threat throughout the game.

I thought exactly the same after the Northampton game and said as much on here. We went on to win 5 of the next 6 games.

I'd like to say the players really should be just as motivated for an FA Cup tie against Blackpool as they are for any league game, but I didn't go last night, so I'm not in a position to say anything. I guess I feel similar to they do.

After Northampton I had us down for bottom 3 nailed on.

    I do again.
