I read about him the other day when someone posted this.... he seems like another "rough diamond" in hecky we trust
That's what I meant in my other post. You get presented with a possible solution, so you then have to think of a problem to go with it. What if he scores 20 goals and fires us into the play-offs, where we get back in the Premiership due to a last minute own goal by Sam Winnall at Wembley, who then gets sent off for groining Marc Roberts in the knee? I can assure you and other readers that I've not touched a drop.
It is your right. But we're never going to build a squad that can but used for the benefit of the product on the pitch without long term deals, everything we're doing as a club is to benefit the players, their agents, and ultimately other clubs.
Couldn't agree more. Hecky's done a fantastic job despite the club's strategy, not because of it, and you have to wonder how long he'll stick it out if he keeps getting the rug pulled from under him thanks to our apparent short-termism. If only we could attract some significant investment that would at the very least enable us to compete with some of our fellow Champ teams in terms of wages etc, that might be a start.
Does anyone know anything about this lad? What position he plays? What type of player he is? I'm assuming Ian would be best suited to answer these but if anyone else knows that would be nice to find out
I read a bit about him the other day. He's an attacking midfielder (something I don't think we really have a need for). Based on the video's shared he's a tricky player who likes to run with the ball at his feet. According to some of the comments on twitter from St Mirren fans, they seem to be split between fans who feel they'd be losing a big talent and ones who feel Mallen is an inconsistent player who scores a worldy one game and then is anonymous for the next 10. He sounds very much like a younger, healthier Paddy McCourt. That can only be a good thing surely? Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Sometimes they report wingers as attacking midfielders so he might be a winger especially if he likes dribbling it, seems a decent player with 22 goals in 93 from midfield and he's only 20/21 so he might be a decent one
Good point. "...last minute own goal by Sam Winnall at Wembley, who then gets sent off for groining Who Leo Rod Ree Gaze in the knee"
