Absolutely think it's the right strategy, providing our success rate is maintained. Turning a multi million pound profit on well scouted lower league players is only what Man United have done for decades. Key thing though is keeping the success ratio up. But with a decent war chest behind us, Hecky should be aggressively poaching all the best talent in L1 & L2 without fear of being outbid. Stay away from Scotland though. Generally *****.
Prepared to hold my hand up and say, as blinkered as it sounds I couldn't give a fck about anything else in football outside Barnsley FC. The moral minority- good luck.
I'm taking the naive everything's gonna be alright line We've got a plan and we're sticking to it. As opposed to behaving completely inconsistent & chaotic based on what mood I'm in.
Only one problem with that- experience. I don't mind having a good group of young, hungry, go getters, but if you fill your team with them in this division, more then likely you're going to get your ass handed to you more often then not. We need a Darren Moore in defense a Jan molby in midfield and a Paul Wilkinson up front.
I'm really excited about him for some reason. Got a really good feeling. Not sure what I'm basing that on mind - definitely not St Mirren's league form!
Exactly some have moaned about us letting a star player leave to a bigger club because he's in the last six months of his contract. Yet it's fine when boot is on the other foot and us as the bigger club sign tomorrow (if rumours are true) a star player from a smaller club who's out of contract in the summer.
Maintaining such a success rate is key though. We've created a fantastic group but there's always an element of luck. If you keep losing your best at some point it'll bite you but I do get what we're doing & why. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Me too John. Got the print for you. Unfortunately the little monkey had fallen asleep in the car so I didn't get to have a pint with Mr C.
