Both mentioned by Nixon this morning. Isgrove to Ipswich, Roberts to Swansea, 'but he is expensive'. Good to hear. Stock is rising every week. If they paid 5 for Alfie, i'd be saying something very similar for Robbo. Not that i'd want him to go like. I'd also definitely be looking at Izzy, if he's available.

Seen that. Not sure Isgroves what we need at the moment. think we need a left winger rather than right.

Roberts. Think he's worth 40/50% of what we got for Mawson. Club get higer end of that at 3 million then they should be very happy.

Got to be getting the plan together today though. It could happen late on Tuesday.

He's worth what someone is prepared to pay and that's all there is to it.

Roberts is pivotal. New Captain, under contract. We should be, and imagine we have done, offering him a new improved deal.

Mawson was sold before we had sold anyone else. We now are under even less pressure to sell for financial reasons.

If Swansea want him then they need to offer huge money. I'd be saying £8m or look elsewhere.

If folk cannot see the value of Roberts to us over and above some arbitrary market value based on fanciful thoughts then it's time to pack up and go home.

Yeah but to be fair, you also wanted shut of Hourihane and Winnall. Just one more to go for your perfect hat-trick, and I imagine you'd be a very happy man. £3m for a Premier League standard centre-back is peanuts. And he is a PL standard centre-back. That's why PL team Swansea are interested in the former non-league man.

What the ex-23s coach PH should be doing, is tying the former-Halifax and non-league centre back MR down to a new contract. He'll be worth £10m within 12 months.

How do you know if he's Premier league standard or not.

I think he'd get targeted at prem level. Imagine him just reciveing the ball against a Liverpool or Manchester United Arsenal Manchester City. They would swarm on him Marc.

He also says that Scowan has turned down a new contract and will move down south unless it's improved.

So by your reckoning value is very important to the club but in the same thread you are advocating selling at a ridiculously low rate.
The facts are, we don't have to sell so its a sellers market, the value is whatever we put on him and whatever they would be daft enough to offer.

Against that we have a great young manager who is currently rebuilding after players were sold who wanted to leave, it hardly puts him in a good light in encouraging new arrivals if we start shipping out players that we don't have to.

It's not down to the manager or Head Coach if we sell or not. It's down to the Owner and the long term plan for the club. We didn't have to sell Bree or Hourihane or Winnall if we really didn't want to but someone put an offer in for these three footballers and the club said do you want to join this team. They all did that.

We've had it for a while now. These crazy figures. I was reading multi million offers should come for Winnall. That was never going to happen. Like Roberts he's a limited footballer. Like Roberts he's not good at the very basic things the better clubs are looking for. Neither of them are that good on the ball under pressure. You only have to watch them play two touch to see this. You see Roberts hitting the ball to Macdonald then they pass it short to Nathan Winder who gives it back then they play a half pitch pass at low speed. Roberts often misses Nathan winder, I see this every single game.

Indeed they are, which makes your assumptions on his value based on Mawson's fee (which was what exactly btw ?) quite frankly ludicrous.

I appreciate that you've never rated Roberts as highly as some others, but it's not illegal to allow events to change your mind.

    It's a sellers market.
We didn't have to sell at ridiculous prices ad in the past ,we were in a position to say no till we were offered what we considered a fair price not the buyers.
    Most clubs have a price.

The reason we didn't get much for Winnall was length of contract. If he had eighteen months left we would have got a multi million pound bid. Roberts is worth as much as Mawson and is a quality championship center half regardless of your dislike of him.

It's a massive shame Roberts didn't come from Chelsea's academy because I really think he would be one of your favourite players H/T if he did

He had the same length of Hourihane and Bree.

Roberts isn't worth that much. If the club get offered the amount I put above they take it every time.

We got 700K for winnall. That was the best deal we've done this window.

4 Million Bree and Hourihane 3 million some are saying that that's also good although I think We are liekly to get much bigger return in 18 months for Bree than we have now.

I'd pay to watch a chelsea u23 coach put Roberts through the drills. Be funny to see how they react when they get him on the ball. Now Marc we want you to pass to my feet, i'm 10 yards away.

Let's try that again, like I say i'm stood here not 20 yards to my left.
