A beautiful Winter's day, great company (barnsley66, jedi one, nezbfc & his Dad who has a fantastically dry wit, Jay and Brush, hopefully), the chance to watch Barnsley in action, the possibility to see the new lads turn out for the first time. We're in the Championship top ten, we have a fully committed Head Coach & squad of players and we're in striking distance of the Play Offs in our first season back at this level. What's not to enjoy? Give me these 'problems' rather seeing lower league matches against less talented teams who bring very few fans, creating little, or no, atmosphere. Just have to ensure my behaviour is much better than it was on Tuesday night!
Really looking forward to it. Been on a lovely morning walk. The sun is shining and whatever happens for the rest of the season it s been a great ride that I'm enjoying.
Good grief. That game epitomised the word dour. Least said soonest mended, we didn't lose, we got a clean sheet. Err, that's it.
Always going to take a couple of weeks to 'click' Not losing while James and the full backs, plus hedges learn what's expected is a plus. Also Yiadom (and Mowatt) to come back in
Rubbish, we're doomed, we won't score another goal, we'll lose every game from now on and we'll finish below Rotherham at the bottom.
I thought we didn't play badly and it was a decent point overall. Just lacking a little cutting edge going forward, and that happens from time to time.
I've seen the best, most exciting Barnsley teams involved in games like today (including earlier this season).
I agree! <img src ="https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/attachments/6a00d83452654869e200e55282a8928834-800wi-jpeg.9475/">
Lacked creativity and didn't play as a team but only to be expected. We have seen much worse and will again. Les enjoy the good times and not fall out in the less good. Still a lovely day though.
I'm going to wait at the front door and watch out for the Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse riding down Dodworth High Street. If nothing else, the manure I collect will be good for the garden.
It is simply not possible to play brilliant football every week. We didn't by any means with Hourihane and Winnall in the side
