That first half hour was as good as we've played all season

    Cracking stuff.

In the 2nd half we were convincingly beaten by a better side.

We've still got more than enough to finish upper mid-table which should be the minimum aim now.

Opinions seem to go from one extreme to the other. It's either 'at least we've enough points to stay up' or 'we might not make the play-offs'.

The play-offs for me was always a pipe dream, but merely staying in this division always appeared to be a negative viewpoint considering some of the performances from the back end of last season. This side is twice as good as the one we had 10 years ago.

We're just 9 points away from equalling our best points tally last time we were in this division and we're still only in February. This season might fizzle out, but a finish of between 7th and 11th is certainly not out of the question. We've been here pretty much all season, there's no reason why we can't remain.

Our range all season has been pretty much between 12th and 5th. That is exceptional considering where we were 12 months ago, how the direction the the club was going in 3 years ago and after the destructive rot that set in when Hill was manager.
We haven't been in the relegation spots this season which is something we coudn't say in any of our last 7-8 years in this League.

I thought Brighton looked low on confidence and we looked exploited that fora bit but as it became clear to us and them that we lacked penetration and creativity they grew into the game and we faded from the game.
