Winnall on bench

Now that's a surprise.

 

While he's on their bench he's not scoring for us, that's their plan.

 

He's earned over £100K in the 40 days since he signed for that team. I'm sure he'll not loose any sleep.

 

Winnall is not a Premier League striker. Wednesday have got a bunch of upper Championship strikers, apart from Rhodes who needs regular football at that level to make an impact as he doesn't do anything else but score goals.

Sam will be out somewhere by this time next January, possibly Wolves on loan.

Gary Hooper back in under 23 games so not long before he's in the first team squad. So they either change tactics to play three strikers. Keep it to two and pack the bench with the other three. Or one of them doesn't even get on the bench.

 

His aim is to play at the highest level isn't it? That's what all our players that have left have said. He's on the bench for the worst team in the play offs.

 

If they stay in this league they won't want him next season. If they go up he's got zero chance of game time. Lets say all five stay fit. You play the two tonight and pack the bench with the other three? You stupidly change tactics that have done so well to accomodate three in the starting eleven to put the other two on the bench? Or two start, two are on the bench for fresh legs and one misses out completely? He's going to be fresh as a daisy, in no need of a pre season break.

 

I just hate the mandatory "he's on ........ a week what will he care" should care a lot in football circles shouldn't it?? We may see it differently as fans because of the amount of money chucked about in the game but l wonder what someone like Holgate thinks? Probably on less money than Winnall but playing for a team 20 times better, and at the top level. Would he swap his contract and club for Winnalls?
