Or is it onwards over the cliff edge in 2020?

I reckon so. Join the Green Party, it's the future.

Yes really. The only party with any idea about a long-term sustainable future. All the rest just carry on consuming the limited resources of the planet with no regard to future generations.

Apologies for the broad brush approach. But an election is needed to fully debate, televise and hear from those who claim to have the right ideas for the government we really want. The lack of exposure and untruths do Corbyn few favours. If he loses an election on his and the party's adopted principals, then he should go. But let the guy have a genuine crack at it. What has he done or said that would weaken the ordinary folk in this country?

I was very much pro-Corbyn, but his "the fight starts now" spiel after the Commons vote on triggering Article 50 has pushed me off the bus. Sorry, JC, but the "fight" should have been during the referendum campaign, when even a modicum of vocal and visible opposition to Brexit might well have swung the vote the other way and avoided the ghastly mess the country now faces. Not a peep from you then; why should people believe you'll fight the fight now?? I'm out.

    Go lick Laura ****sberg's snatch.

The Tory Party now own the BBC, if ya didn't get it?

Any idea that we have a fair press in this country, went when one leader emerged that threatened the status quo, of centre right new labour / tory interchangable leaders. Politics has polarised. Back to left / centre right / far right (LAB / CON / UKIP, if I need to spell it out).

Labour beat UKIP hands down vs their leader in a seat that was a massive majority for leave.
They lost in a seat whre the sitting MP, whilst being a labour MP, was a former press officer for Sellafield... biggest employer in the area... Labour membership & Corbyn not exactly friends of nuclear.... Non of this mentioned on the blessed BBC. X

Can honestly see a big swing away from Labour in Barnsley at the next general election.

I'm a Labour Party member but I don't really identify with any of their politics any more.

    Which ones?

    http://www.labour.org.uk

I don't expect people to agree with what I think, but please if you claim to be a Labour supporter, why would you vote for UKIP or Tories?

The Labour Party is a socialist party. I.e it aims to promote democratic control over the economy (historically referred to as the "means of production"),
manufacturing / mining & other primary industries not being big in our economy these days, it would be a wider call, covering services & the web, etc...
I would have thought democratic control, over monopolistic / oligarchial was preferable, than selling things off to the highest bidder, like the Chinese, the Germans, etc.

You're right - I must be blind myself. Absloutely no mention of the nuclear industry at all.

Copeland has been voting Labour for more than 80 years. On Thursday many felt it was time for a change and, as in the words of one voter, "went for the blue". Why?

The nuclear question seems to have been the big one for voters the BBC spoke to.

Though Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's previous objections to nuclear power may have softened, it would seem they were still too hard for the area in which Sellafield nuclear fuel reprocessing and decommissioning plant is a major employer.

"I went Conservative because they back nuclear," a voter called Amanda in Whitehaven told the Today programme.

"A lot of my family and friends are in the nuclear industry, the whole area depends on it."

I didn't write that - The BBC wrote that. If your criticism had been some pedantry about the BBC inacurate historic reporting of constituency names I may have simply ignored it.

But it wasn't. Indeed quite to the contrary of your accusation it was you that chose to generate the "fake outrage" so typically the objective of fake news by saying they didn't mention the nuclear industry. They did. Lots of times.

I'm a supporter of Corbyn. I'm not surprised those that work in the Nuclear industry don't like him.

I wouldn't make some bull excuse for him about the BBC being at fault for biased reporting over it.

Neither do I resort to name calling or divergence from the topic in hand when it becomes obvious I'm wrong.
