Haven't done tomorrow's meetings as yet Ponty72. I'll be looking at them very early tomorrow morning and will post then.

That said, if you followed my post on the cricket you'd be running a mile from my thoughts!

I'll maybe say something about the town of Rotherham early on termorrer as well.

No worries pal, I'll check for your thoughts tomorrow.

I've commented on your cricket thread, tough day for England, doesn't look like a surface for the bowlers on that showing.

Rather regretting suggesting we could discount the draw!

You never know it could change by tea tomorrow, or more likely the 3rd/4th day. The 1 result looking unlikely from here though is an England win.

No rain forecast so don't think we can rely on the reliable.

    Right, here we go!

I'm backing one horse only at Ponte tonight:

    6.30 JACK CARTER
Fahey's Lady Argentum arguably boasts the best form but she has had three goes, whereas Mark Tompkins' colt has raced only once. Mark trains in Newmarket, but is a Yorkshireman by birth and (regrettably) a Wednesday fan. His colt is by Medicean, and would have needed his first race at Leicester, where Timeform noted him as having size and scope: "should do better". The best ever cash draw I had at the races was a May afternoon at Ponte in 2001 when I spotted Mark in the paddock. I took the hint regarding his horse Mumbling, who was trading on the boards at 20/1. Happily, I found one poor soul offering 33's and I availed myself. It took three of them to scrape together the readies to pay me out - never had a bet on course like it before or since! Happy days!

The rest of the Ponte card is typically tricky, but my idea of the winners would be:

    7.00 Tolah
    7.30 Silvanus
    8.05 Yourartisonfire
    8.35 Entity
    9.05 Firgrove Bridge

There are some very interesting bets elsewhere today:

Newbury 2.00 RECORDER (Already backed from 6/1 to 3/1 overnight for this debut run)
    Newbury 3.05 NOVANCIA
Newbury 3.40 OPAL TIARA (Strong Royal Ascot form where she was drawn on the wrong side)
Newmarket 6.15 BINT AL REEM (Appleby's best two year old filly)
Newmarket 8.25 WICKEDLY SMART (Very eye-catching run last time out)

    Best of luck, P72!

Cheers orsen. I've taken 8/1 on Jack Carter already, I'm confused as to why the market isn't fancying him.

    Trackside for the remainder.

    GL to you too.

Racing Post reports "no horse has travelled more than 150 miles".

Newbury selections have disappointed - here's hoping tonight's fare better!

Money has poured on Bint Al Reem (6.15 Newmarket).

Jack Carter hasn't shortened - but that's what I'd expect. It's a bit under the radar!
