It started so well, meeting up with Arabian Ian and his two mates, then meeting T-Dog for the first time. That Tartan Tykes flag he hung up at the back of the Ponty is certainly special.
I thought we'd played reasonably well in the first half, creating & wasting enough chances to have been comfortably in the lead by half time. Winnall took his goal very well indeed. Unfortunately, the second half produced nothing worthy of note, we seemed to make numerous unforced errors. Then we brought on our two subs to give more of an attacking threat, but they replaced our two most creative players, meaning the service to those up front became non existent. Shrewsbury grabbed the initiative and I'd love to say their winning goal was totally against the run of play, but I didn't think it was.
Pitiful second half performance. If those at the club don't wish to receive complaints & criticism, then don't supply your critics with any ammunition to fire like you have today.

Exactly as l saw it, after putting my thoughts on here l thought I'd end up feeling like I'd been at a different game! I also bought another bottle of wine on my way home to supplement the couple from the weekly shop this morning.

My missus hates football but loves it when we lose, the first bottles open at 5.30pm.

Not sure what was put in the half time tea, but we never showed up second half. I'm disappointed, but I don't think LJ is a clueless oaf. You're right about that flag and it was a shock to find out that arabian_ian has his own teeth. Is he really Scottish?

Good to see you today, mate.
Ian jumped up quicker than I did when we scored. But I'm an idle bugger!

get behind em yer miserable bugger....

:)

to be honest I am pigged off too, I thought we could have taken the Shrews down today with not too many problems. I know that's sounding like a Wendy Fan... but the way they have begun I just thought we could have done a job.... I certainly did not think we would lose by any stretch of the imagination. Even a draw today would have put us at 10th , but now we are in the bottom half and 3 points away from the dark places. This will inspire the BFC, KKK ... to light the Fiery crosses on the lawns of the board and management staff at Oakwell. But whatever... I am beginning to lose interest TBH

Nice to meet BigLil, barnsley66, Jay, and Plankton Pete today and agree with everything you've put there mate.
Really thought we'd push on second half and be a bit more clinical but truth be told after the break we didn't create much to put away!
We don't look to be a team playing with any real confidence at the moment. Need a few of our players to start taking these sorts of games by the scruff of the neck a bit

Stuff it I'm opening the wine too
