I actually agree with you, I don't even like sweetcorn! When I was working in Spain one summer I could only find pizza with chicken that also came with sweetcorn. I originally bought it and attempted to take the sweetcorn off but there's tons of the stuff so I ended up eating a bit and then a bit more until I got used to it. I can eat it on pizzas now but can't eat it in any other form. I'll only purposefully ask for it on pizza if I'm sharing with someone else (e.g. the hubby as he likes it).

I don't see the issue. Halal is just another way of killing the animal which means more people are eligible to buy the product.

It's barbaric how our animals are killed for meat anyway so I don't see why it would be a problem.

Its just another way Islamic culture is being forced upon us, sometimes secretly. Recently found out my favourite Indian restaurant serves nothing but Halal, even though it has never stated it anywhere I could see, and I have completely boycotted.

I'd love to see a supermarket come out and state 'we do not sell halal meat' because I would guarentee that chain of supermarkets profits would go through the roof and others would follow. Its about time we stopped bending over for these ignorant ****s.

No but I've seen videos. I know not all have appalling conditions but some do and we all know that some do without it stopping us eating meat which is why I don't see how halal should be stopping anyone. I'd guess that quite a lot of people who say no halal are doing so out of hatred of Islam rather than any animal welfare issues

I bet you have never seen any videos of all the good ones, just the tiny tiny minority of bad examples. i worked as a butcher for 20 years, I visited approx 35/40 abattoirs and I only ever saw one thing that i thought was bad and that was not really the fault of the place. There are some horrible people in all walks of life and the treatment of animals I have seen in a few videos is disgusting, but to bundle all of the abattoirs together is a silly thing to do.

If a restaurant is serving halal meat then it should state this on the menu so people have a choice whether to order it or not, same with meat in supermarkets, it should be labelled halal if that's what it is, this should be the law, the bloody EU have laws for everything else, wonder why they don't in this case?

Probably would have worked better verbally. This just makes you look like you were reading with a chicken & sweetcorn pizza strewn on your screen.
