And I've no doubt it's the reason why I'm becoming increasingly disenchanted with it all.

The problem is football is a results based business rather than a money making business.

When you already have a very young squad that lacks leadership, the last thing you should be doing is signing 7 further young players who are all loanees with little experience & none have shown any leadership qualities.

I'd be asking why Johnson felt the need to sign Wilkinson who he had on loan last season when surely he knew about his bad attitude.

Rothwell couldn't get a game for a dreadful Blackpool side last season so why was he deemed fit for a team with top 6 aspirations.

The money we've wasted on loans & agent fees would've been much better spent on several experienced free agents back in June / July time.

The loan markets useful if you have a well balanced squad & want to add one or two players of quality from a higher league or you have an injury crisis.

Beat me to it. Statistically he's one of our best in the last 10 years and gave us some memorable days.

Cup runs aren't a sign of a good manager. Players need no motivation for them games. Look at us v Everton earlier this season & the effort the players put in compared to our league games around it.

He spent a fortune compared to every other championship manager we had and the league was weaker.

Someones got a problem with Mr Cryne, actually not rational either.

This myth that things were good under Robins isn't logical to me.

But lets get back to the matter of the thread.

''Every loan as been a gamble as such'' every transfers a gamble. Always will be. Theres a hugh amount that goes into a footballer doing well.

''This policy as left us in a position to rebuild again in mid season'' Good as these players would have meant a large amout of money built on quick sand.

''Where does this leave us with Hammill a short term deal'' with a good fotballer for a minimum of 11 games from the contract signed. If he signs another which I think he will then great, if he doesn't we've had a really good footballer for the stated period that can only help.

Hourihane, Winnall, Davies Bree.... all have 18 months left on there contract. If someone wants them come the summer they will have to agree a fee with barnsley.

Give over, we won at Anfield and beat the Champions and one of the best teams in Europe at the time.

Please don't refer to the Everton game this season to make a point as we lost and let 5 goals in.

And he kept us in championship 3 years running.

Yep, because he hasn't got a clue when it comes to the football side of things when running a football club, and its the main reason why we are up **** creek without a paddle.

Simon Davey out of the the managers in champ had far the biggest budget in the championship and in my eyes he failed.

Did we see progression the answer is no we were stuck in relegation battles for those seasons despite the investments in the squad. Yes he got us into the cup semi final but how many people remember semi finalists?

In Cryne's tenure 2 managers have only taken the Team forward Andy Ritchie and Mark Robins. I would have loved to see Mark Robins with the financial support Davey got.

How many bfc fans remember the semi final is the more pertinent question. An historic day.

You don't think Robins was backed financially? Wow.

I'd say he was. The wage bill under Robins must have been massive. Shotton, Dickinson, Shackell, McShane, O'Connor, Harewood, Hammill, Arismendi, Lovre, Trippier. He was backed big time.

He was an unpopular manager, I didn't particularly like him as a character, but for me he did well. He was backed but we were still small fry in that division.

People complain about our managers but 4/5 managers that have left have all had a good 6 months from their first year.

The cup run was great, I loved every second of it but history shows it doesn't take a good manager to get a lower league team motivated to play against big clubs. It's what happens week in week out that counts.

He did keep us up but he did it on a bigger budget than any manager since in a league that was weaker at the time.

I liked plenty of the players Davey brought in but for me we under achieved under him
