Was down the pub today watching two abysmal matches on Murdoch TV & got talking to someone about music.

He said he was into indie music, like Ed Sheeran & Coldplay.

i am currently listening to the Wedding Present & Kurt Vile & attempting to slit my wrists.

    Indie?

People view artists differently genre wise to others.
I would say Ed Sheeran is more pop music, Coldplay Pop/Rock

Just to pigeonhole, I would class the first two as 'pop'

I hope you head butted him.

Just to clarify I'd classify both above "acts" as bielzibubs offspring only cockwombles of the highest order listen to.

If ever you wanted a prime example of a 'music snob', look no further.

i was thinking more "absolute $hite", than "pop music". but like football, music is very much a game of opinions..

Yes and I'm quite proud of it! If you ever wanted a prime example of someone's musical taste I care very little for look no further.

I don't particularly like either, I can just appreciate that people have different tastes in music and that's no bad thing.

I haven't got a clue who Sheeran is; I've heard his name but I don't think I've heard any of his music so I can't really comment but I have heard Coldplay and they have never been anywhere near the 'indie' genre.

I'm sure he's very good at what he does but the new style of music makes my ears bleed however if he is anything like Coldplay then he can't be classed as indie in my humble opinion.

Ah come on we all like different music, each to their own and all that, to argue I wasn't being a music would have been futile so go with it. Besides listening to either ed Sheehan or Coldplay instantly renders an opinion on music invalid.... See what I did there!

What's wrong with having the opinion that those two artists don't do anything for you personally but millions of others like them so fair play to them? I will never understand why people have to insult others because they like different music. You wouldn't go to someone's house, look at their garden and start screaming 'PURPLE FLOWERS? Only a n idiot would like purple flowers' but you (and many many others) seem to think it's normal behaviour to insult somebody based on what music they listen to.

    I'll never understand it

I don't want to alarm you but that's what each to their own means....

That's a bit like walking up to a gay couple and spewing homophobic abuse at them before walking off saying each to their own and thinking you've said nothing wrong.

P's I don't have any purple flowers. Had plenty of pink ones last year though.

Pps I lied, I can see ONE random purple flower popping its head up now

    Ppps its probably a weed
