We took a chance on an exciting young player. Had he got over his injury he could have played a key part in our season and we could be top 2 rather than top 6. It hasn't worked out so far so it looks like the risk isn't going to pay off. But that's football, some players flop and some over achieve. Why should club be lambasted for taking a chance on an exciting young player?
It's not the club I'm "lambasting". Edit - just seen that Rhys Williams has played four games in the last two seasons. Interesting.
I was watching Boro the day Rhys Williams was injured (Jacob was there at the time). He was seriously hurt. And I saw him injured on his return last season against us in the cup. No conspiracy here.
So much for him making the last three games of the season then, unless he's banking on us making the play off final. I'm sure he's raring to go for August. Please note - this is not a dig at the club.
he won't play again this season. hecky has already said that. i suspect you know this as well. i hope he recovers fully for next season, and i'm sure you'll be 100% behind him in that.
I wish you would. So far, i'd say you've been very judgmental of the lad. In fact I would suggest you haven't reserved judgment at all.
I'm sure it was announced not long ago that the problem had been found by a new doctor, something to do with his pelvic bone being misaligned and creating his groin problems, he is having treatment and is training but will not be back this season. If I'm having a senior moment and I've imagined that announcement I apologise, can any one else confirm this.
It was mentioned somewhere recently. He does have a known medical condition that affects a muscle/ligament in the pubic area which causes chronic pain during movement and is especially prevalent in athletes. Can be career threatening apparently. But still there'll be those who think he's shirking...
that will be the ones on here with deep medical knowledge and close insight into his rehabilitation then, i imagine?
I remember going to my doctor worried about pain in my groin and biting was found, turned out to be coming from my back. Not ready to do so spot, I bet that's where the issue is.
Just felt the need to add that my son was mascot a few weeks ago and Ryan Williams was the best of the lot when it came to welcoming my lad and the other mascots. He made a fuss of them and was a really likeable lad. The other players were happy enough to have photos and Hammill was great with my son when they walked out to the pitch, but Ryan Williams really made an effort with them. He also briefly talked to me about his injury and how frustrating it has been. He explained that he knows that some people think that he should just crack-on; he wishes that he could, but he physically hasn't been able to. He was really hoping to be back in contention for the last couple of games but obviously that isn't happening now. I really wish him well. Hope he has a big role for us next year.
Tother week Hecky said we had no injury wories and everyne was fit and available for selection. This was before we lost marley etc... So where is RW? They will probably give him close season and pre-season to get fit and then get rid if he cant get fit.
