If we can't break well over 10k for games like this we don't deserve high profile, big club home draws.
Why, is it high profile playing Everton reserves? I've no interest whatsoever in attending this game, and it's on TV. I'd rather go to the next league home game. This cup is utter toss.
They're playing a strong side. Unless you think Oviedo, Mirrilas, Delefeu and Besic are reserve players...

What about the other 7 players? And those lot running in second gear barely breaking a sweat and insuring they don't get injured....
It seems it's high profile and of interest to a lot of people (other than Barnsley Fans that is). TV found it interesting, Everton find it interesting and a lot of neutrals do. So why don't the majority of Barnsly fans? I think it's more to do with us as fans than the cup itself. If you aren't interested to see the potential likes of Oviedo, Deulofeu, Mirallas, Besic, Lennon, McGeady, Robles, plus the added interest of Holgate and up and coming McAleny then I'm not sure what your looking for. Call them reserves but a level of quality you won't be seeing in L1 this season. I haven't even mentioned regulars, some of which will play too. If you aren't going because of cost, I get that. If it's due to there being no interest in watching your team up against a decent premiership team then I'm surprised.
The same ones who are fighting for a first team place and need to prove they are better than a young L1 team to make their case. It's a shame you have such a negative view on this game, which I think should be something we are excited for.
Your right Barnskey fans in general don't deserve these matches We were taking piss out of donny attendance other night against Leeds Ours no better These will be the same fans who sit in a pub and watch it on sky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The proof is in the pricing pudding: few are prepared to spend 20 quid for the numerous documented reasons. To be fair i don't think the pricing decision was ever taken with our fans in mind, knowing full well that we would have to charge them as much as us. There were over 2000 Reading fans at Portsmouth last night for this unglamourous tin pot cup tie, kids 2 quid and adults a tenner: no 20 pound notes required!
You could say the same about the tarn residents and league games not just this cup. Simply not interested. Shame.
I get that people can't afford to go and in fact I think pricing could have been more attractive. I fully get that. What I don't get is where there is a general lethargic approach, lack of interest and disrespect for the game itself. Unless my views are still old fashioned I would have though we aspire to watch our team play against the best opposition we can, cup competitions do this. this game meets everything I would want from Tie. If genuine Barnsley / Football fans aren't interested in this game ( irrespective of attending or not ) I don't know what will interest them.
The cups a shambles, why do you think there's so many upsets? Most of them not even worth reporting on these days. And the list of players you have given me, I've barely heard of half of them, Everton are aren't a top side in the Prem, a run of the mill average one. We only turned out 13k fans for a tie in this competition against Man U reserves. Sky may see this as a interesting tie enough to put on TV, did you see the teams involved in last nights "interesting tie"?. If they want the crowds to return for this competition then it's needs a complete rehaul. I'd be more excited at Rochdale away.
Most of us go because we want to watch Barnsley as we support Barnsley. Some though go based on the opposition. Those people aren't likely to go based on tonights opposition. Lots of foreign fringe players and Stones probably now not playing as punishment for his transfer request.
