Counting crows and The Wallflowers. Saw Wallflowers play last year at a baseball game but never seen Counting Crows. Should be good night, outdoor concert,90 degrees out at minute, plenty of beer and Food being packed in the cooler.
cooler...concert...baseball...counting crows...90 degrees out...do you live in america by any chance? do you fill a form in, or out?
Counting Crows are one of my favourite bands, you should enjoy it. It would be good to hear what you think of them.
Was gonna go myself, but baulked at the £20 ticket price....then paid promptly paid £22 for Duckworth Lewis Method, at same said venue!
I've got tickets for the same concert on July 18th at the America's Cup Pavilion in San Francisco. "One Head Light", or whatever the song was called, was out when I move to the States in 1996. Looking forward to seeing both of them.
It was magic to be that close to them. The control Kurt Wagner has over his voice is just incredible, and pretty much the whole band just simmer. They played Mr M off the latest album and it was one of the most sublime things I've ever heard, this bloke in the crowd after it shouted "It dun't get better than that" it a broad Yorkshire accent which creased them up. Got to talk to Kurt afterwards as well which was great, he says he loves the banter up north
oh and the first song off "what another man spills" which I forget the name of and which was the first song of theirs I ever heard which made my night and was gorgeous, all synth strings and sparse
It's Nathan's family that own it. My friend is his brother Ian Clark, who owns Verve in Huddersfield. I understand their mum had the Club before Nathan took the reigns.
in that case Mr C you'll not want to hear that I'm off up to That Paris on Monday to see Lambchop doing an acoustic performance with Band of Horses. I saw Kurt Wagner on his solo tour in a tiny venue in Oslo back in '07 and that was a superb evening. A slightly tipsy Mrs Burgundy Red also had a bit of a chat with him between songs at a Lambchop gig in York a few years back, much to my embarrassment. http://citedelamusique.fr/francais/...ses--a-special-acoustic-performance--lambchop
