During his time at Hillsborough. Sobering figures for a club trying to keep players who turn over only about twice that figure....
Wednesday have used something like 37 players this season to make up their starting 11 and their bench according to a report I read in the Star last week. They have a bloated squad and are struggling to offload players largely because of the wage deals the players are on. It's suggestive of a manager who struggles to get the best out of his players and thinks he can go out and find ready made solutions to problems that are largely down to his own inadequacies. Sam needs to hit the ground running at S6 otherwise he'll be just another squad player. Oh aye the money might make it sweet but there's nowt like being first pick week in and week out.
Agree pal. Depends where his priorities lie, but I don't think Sam suffers from a lack of self confidence.
How do you know how much he is going to earn? There is a lot of guesswork presented as fact. He may well earn that much, or even more, or possibly less. I would think that the only people who really know are those in charge at SWFC, Winnall's agent and Winnall himself - plus anyone the said parties have decided to inform. Someone asked me in the pub last week how much Barnsley players earned. As I am a season pass holder, he assumed, for some reason, that I would know. I replied that I had no idea - because I haven't any idea. I could make a guess, and that is all.
£18k per week was quoted in the Sun yesterday - at 4x his wages at Barnsley. It is anyones guess how accurate that actually is. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2597244/sheffield-wednesday-sam-winnall/
