Listen to Tory MP rant against disabled parking spaces...unbelievable..

Please sign the petition... my brother has been diagnosed terminal with cancer and given between 3 and 6 months to live... yet 2 weeks ago we had to take the governments test to see if he was fit for work... a test done by people with NO medical qualifications... this Government war against the sick and disabled has to stop..

    PLEASE PLEASE SIGN

heres a suggestion for your Bro matey.

Bear with me on this. My Dad died in 1995, his heart. He had heart trouble from an early-ish age. He was told by the Doc's he had to stop work when he was 61.. he died at 63. NOW.... when he was told to stop I suggested he applied for a parking badge , and perhaps try for Motability or whatever its called... he was refused. My Mum rang them and asked why... she was well short changed by some clerk, but she asked what her medical qualifications were... basically she would have trouble with a Band Aid. Mum went and saw their local Doc.. "here he said give them this " he gave her a letter which basically gave his heart trouble a "SYNDROME" ... bloody hell they nearly wet themselves... "OH A SYNDROME" " WHY DID YOU NOT SAY IT WAS A SYNDROME" ... he got the parking badge and the motability allowance I reckon they would given him dancing girls and a private yacht the way they fawned to Him and Mum. He got the badge and the allowance as I have said..... but he broke down and wept his heart out... he said he felt like a lepper. This was a man who had gone in the pit aged 14... worked his every living day, paid God knows how much into the system... and even had the sense to set a private pension up too, so in my view never really ever a burden on society ...he died aged 63. Oh and before you all go on... it was a labour Govt that tried to stop his claim...I reckon they all as bad as each other .

My dad hadn;t worked since having a hip replacement. He struggles to walk even now. he sixty. He went to one of these assessments.

he was in there for 5 minutes, has asked to lift both legs one at a time and then touh the top of his head with each hand. wasn't asked any other question s an dwas later told he was fit for work.

He has since appealed where he was assessed by a proper doctor and now deamed not fit to work

    Re: Done

My mum went to one of these, she was deemed not fit to work at 17 and hasn't worked since (she's now 51), but has had to re-do the medical every year. They stopped her money in September and she went to the interview type thing where they try to find you a job. They asked her questions about her disabilities and told her a) not to come back as they won't be able to find her one and b) that she can't go on the dole as my dad works full time (minimum wage).

    Re: Done

Sorry to hear about your brother and our thoughts go out to you.

    Regarding these tests....
The whole thing is some sick joke.

Heard about people with conditions that they were born with having to go back for regular re-assessments .......how are they going to get better ? The company charges for the extra regular testing though i.e. we pay them .

ATOS....thats what this government couldn't give.

Already signed but I hope more do.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear about your brother but I do think the welfare state is badly broken and is desperate need of an overhaul, thanks to years of mismanagement under Labour. There may well be some further fine-tuning needed to make sure that genuine cases are given the support they need but there has to be some changes to stop people who don't need it from claiming what they're not entitled to.
