There will be one less fan there on boxing day, sadly my Dad lost his short fight with cancer on saturday night, Eric was well known in the local cricket world , taking Thorpe Audlin to league cup success this season at the age of 74. White haired slow bowler he loved his cricket. he also loved his club , watching barnsley for over 50 years we used to go everywhere together in the early years he used to carry me over the turnstiles into the ponty end, that had to all stop though when i got bigger than him lol.His last game when he was able to get to his seat was Donny Rovers, a wet saturday boring 0-0 draw. All the more poignant cos for our sins that,s where we have lived for the last 40 years. Then his very last game watching the Reds was the Birmingham game, sat in the disabled stand shouting the lads on, only to see them lose and Flicker lose his job. He was happy with Danny coming back, the night we had round Barnsly all those years ago after the Bradford game was one of the best nights we ever spent together, as all of you who where there will understand. He will be there in spirit and his season ticket will go with me to every game, RIP DAD , ERIC A TRUE BARNSLEY SUPPORTER TILL HE DIED
