    Hi there Barnsley fans,

Any chance I can get some extra signatures for my club to acquire a new stadium? Only takes a few minutes, we would really appreciate your help.

We have been trying for the last 20 years, but setbacks due to location, nimby's, and funding have set us back.

This is an official petition made by Grimsby Town Football Club over the last few months, which will be handed into our local council for planning permission.

Circa 500 permanent jobs, and 500 temporary construction jobs. For the long term survivability of the club, not only will it help the club, it will help with community projects in Education and Health.

    Thank you.

Signed and good luck. Good luck next season too. It doesn't seem like 2 minutes since you were knocking 6 past us. Grimsby belong back in the league.

Thank you, we appreciate it. I know how you feel, at least it will be around 5 miles inland actually in Grimsby, instead 5 minutes from the sea. :D

Thank you very much. There was some good games in the past, and you always brought a good following, you Yorkshire teams always did.

Always remember playing you on the same day England beat Germany 1 - 5, we somehow was at the top of the Championship, it all went downhill after that.

Good signing that Sam Winnall, made some good signings. I reckon you will be up there with the the other big boys in League 1, might bounce right back up.

Can remember you beating Man Utd in a cup match when you was in the Premiership, think it was around Feb 1998, I was watching it in Linekers bar - Tenerife, loads of Barnsley lasses going crackers, Tenerife beat Real Madrid the same week... lol :D

Done. Now promise to never resign Clive MenDonkey I still have nightmares about him. I had a lot of admiration for those Alan Buckley sides and we want you back where you belong in the football league.

    Good luck with the campaign.

I will contribute funds to splitting south humberside and floating it off to dogger bank to be used as target practice for the royal navy.

Signed mate. As a resident of Grimsby for seven years in the 90s I wish you all the best, I know its a football town and remember being the only one left there for a couple of days in the "double Wembley year"!

So is it going to be just past the YMCA buildings or further on at the roundabout?
I have great memories of Grimsby Town, through my mate who died earlier this year, maybe you knew him , Winston Walters? His wake was at Bundell Park , in the Lawrie McMenemy suite. He was in the cash office later on , but he was a steward and loads of other things at Blundell Park, even when he lived here in Barnsley, he would travel through every match without fail. Signed .

Signed, but with some regret that another, old, traditional ground will be consigned to the scrap heap in favour of an identikit, flat-pack stadium. As cold and unwelcoming as Blundell Park may be, it has some character.

Remember we went one year and thought we'd dropped lucky finding some on street parking a stones throw from the ground. Parked up and went for fish and chips, then a pint and then the match. Came back afterwards and some clever cnuts must have seen the Barnsley licence plates on the car and had literally parked 2 inches from the front and rear bumpers. They didn't come back for their cars until nearly 7pm. They had the last laugh despite us winning 2-0.

How far out is this new ground? I don't like new grounds that are too far from the railway station - I'm still ******* annoyed at Coventry for moving so far out that I can't get there reasonably by public transport, even though I live in Birmingham. And I'm still annoyed, despite the fact that they're now playing in Northampton. In fact, Northampton is far easier for me to get to than the Ricoh.

I fcukng hate Coventry. So if the ground's a decent walk from the station then I'll sign it. If it's miles outside town in the middle of a carpark then I won't.

I went that day. You lot had just beaten us, and me and my mam & dad decided to stay and watch the England game in a local pub. The atmosphere was fantastic as you guys had a good result and then England topped it all off emphatically. Despite our defeat it was a good day out.

Signed the petition mate, and good luck. Be nice to play you again, but hopefully that will be through your efforts and not our downfall :)
