MrsHallsToffeerolls - still to be confirmed whether a 3 or 4 day. Final day however is Sunday April 30th. sadbrewer - definitely taking place. No routes yet announced. Farnham_Red - when I asked the organisers the question, because it was organised through ASO, they have trademarked the "Tour De" prefix for any events under their control. There is a 'Tour 'o the Highlands' in Scotland - that's fine, it's not an ASO event. I agree with you though, would have given it a greater legacy and identity. http://letour.yorkshire.com/maserati-tour-de-yorkshire-ride 2017 info.
Googling it it would seem it is happening but as of yet no routes have been named or any detail such as if it's being made four days or not. It doesn't interest me but I still think four days would make more sense. Should then be able to fit in all of the county so places don't miss out through favouritism. Plus better for economy especially with the final day landing on bank holiday monday and not the sunday before.
Thanks for the explanation - I had wondered why and guessed it would be something like that but its good to have that confirmed
