It'll be good to see the return of Liam Lawrence into midfield. I felt we missed his guile & experience last night. We'll need to continue our recent away form at these next two games. If we can repeat the performances with similar results too, then it's onto Leeds United at home on Easter Saturday. Assuming Etuhu is suspended for three games, he'll be available for Leeds.

I thought it was just 1 match? It wasn't a straight red.

Perhaps it's me who has got in wrong, no change there! I was under the impression a straight red constituted a one match ban, but a red due to two yellows brought about a three match ban.

Other way. Straight red is more serious (usually), so brings a higher penalty.

Having said that, the good news is that Etuhu is available for Saturday.

i suggest 100 lines saying
"two yellow cards and sending off in a match result in a one match ban whereas a straight red receives a three match ban"

and copy and paste is not allowed. i can tell! :)

I used to selotape about 7 biros together at school when i got lines.

Do they still give lines JamDrop ?

No, writing isn't allowed to be a punishment. Although Gove is encouraging it, along with physical exercise and de-weeding the school gounds as punishments (our Head showed us the letter that Gove sent to all Heads with punishment recommendations).

That bloke needs a brain transplant. I've no kids (although I know a bit about them because I used to be one) and don't know much about schools today, but every time I see that bloke's smug stuck-up face and hear him spouting his crap I want to throw up. I can't believe I come from the same country as he does.

How you teachers put up with him I'll never know.

If you are interested they are here on page 8: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...a_guide_for_headteachers_and_school_staff.pdf

Most seem fair enough, making them run around the field seems a bit much though. Also, I'd have to go out there to supervise them - no thanks!

That's a 15 page document which I believe can be summed up in a few words, starting with "common sense". I reckon most teachers would be struggling to balance all the advice in that document (and the many supporting documents referenced within it) when making disciplinary decisions. It must be terrible trying to discipline a child when all the time worrying if you will get something wrong and leave yourself open to criticism or even action from parents or your head teacher etc. Really glad I don't do your job and I've the utmost admiration for you and your fellow teachers these legislative days.
