I've played golf once and it reinforced all my prejudices about golf clubs. It was at some PGA course thing in London and they made me go and get changed out of my Strokes t-shirt and jeans before they'd let me on, made me hire a full set of clubs instead of the 6 iron I'd borrowed, and they'd built the flippin clubhouse no where near the 9th hole for when I got bored half way round and gave up. Took me ages to run back for a pint. Every word of that is true btw
I agree. Must just be a coincidence that our board members are always white male usually from later on in life.
Sounds like a friendly club, you wouldn't have got in the car park in some of the clubs I've played at ,but if you want to give it a go again go to Celtic Manor in Wales, 5* resort and they let anyone play in anything (more or less)
I can't really complain. I think I only got near because I was part of a wedding weekend using the adjoining hotel and it's fair to say I wasn't taking it too serious. My swing was a thing of beauty though. It was compared to someone clubbing a baby seal to death.
I'm embarrassed to see that go out on BFC headed paper, as it now associates the club with the views within. It makes us look about as progressive as Muirfield Golf Club. I really hope the club disassociates itself from this, as these are the personally held views of one director.

Must admit, was really surprised to see our crest on that considering it's a FA Council letter. Strange.
Good in theory in reality you are much more likely to pick the person who reminds you of yourself/ went to same schools/ is a member of the same clubs. The best person rarely gets a look in.
Berry's letter does him few favours but then again the FA should not be the organisation in the government's cross hairs that should be the bloated behemoth that is the Premier League. I did quite a bit of work with the FA a couple of years ago. I found them out of touch but well intentioned but also powerless against the might and wealth of the vested interests in the Premier League. The stereotypes of what a member of the FA council would look and sound like are pretty much true.
