As I said in earlier post mate, don't know if it's the same guy but it's the same name, Jared Ambler, as mentioned in Mark Hodkinson book - A life at the top, when reporting on Reds v Liverpool at Oakwell with the infamous Mr Willard
If,as the media are portraying this as being an out of control nutjob hell bent on braining anyone in arms reach then he wouldnt be up for assault. He would be looking at a stretch. At the very least affray. The thing is unless you are in those circumstances you do not know how youll react. Wether it was OTT or not its all very subjective based on the 'facts' If someone threatened my family? I advance.
Film of it here at 4.30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DupJP_V7IUM Would be a hell of a coincidence if it were two different people called Jared Ambler.
And both from Holland too. The Willard fan played for hoyland falcons as a teenager in the 80s which surprisingly puts him in his late 40s. This one is from Holland and is in his late 40s. Tried to attach a referee Got a 3 year ban for fighting in Cardiff Got a 3 year ban for fighting at S****horpe. I reckon he was innocent...
All that does is bring back horrible memories of that inept referee.... Only 2 things would make me want to smack the ***** out of someone. One is if they threatened the safety of my wife or little lad. The other is if I ever met Gary ****ing Willard
Thugs and football hooligans give decent football fans a bad name, lead to decent football fans being treated worse by the police and increase the costs to the football club and in turn lead to higher ticket prices. That's why people discuss football hooligans
I was talking about the incident not the bloke as I don't know him and that he did right to defend his self after been hit he did what any other sane person would do. Problem on here is too many do Gooders who claim they would get hit and then not hit back.
I'll stick to the facts rather than guessing what happened. Fact 1. He has a history of football violence and is a convicted football hooligan. Fact 2. Independent witnesses on the train identified him as the aggressor Fact 3. He admitted it.
Fact 4. What would you do in that situation??? Kids feeling threatened, young guy swinging fists, backed up by lairy mates....so over to you Me Super Tyke
All the people who were on the train have said the scunny fans were looking for it. They threw the first punch, he was with his kids regardless of his past he has a right to defend him and his kids. Maybe you would let folk slap you about but 9 out of 10 sane lads wouldn't.
You, me we're all entitled to our views but believe it or not we don't live in a world full of fluffy clouds and little lambs!! Can I ask are you a father?? I am and if someone attacked me and scared my kids then I'd not be pleased one bit at all......
If im on a train an somebody has a go at me...fine. Somebody as a go at my children, different story. Maybe he went too far, but he was defending himself and his children. If you could walk away under such provocation...brilliant, well done. I couldnt....scunny fan deserved a shoeing..perhaps not as prolonged but he deserved it...end of...in my eyes.
No I'm not a father but if I was and I was a serial football hooligan with multiple convictions for football related violence I would be ashamed of myself for putting my kids in that position
