http://www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=63793&start=1 Apparently we'll probably raise our game. How does that work then? Our "game" has been raised sufficiently for most games this season. Don't they look at other teams form, or the league table ? Why do you need to raise your game against a team that's not won any of their last 6. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
the Sheffield Wednesday of the Midlands in their arrogance. I do so hope we finish above them, and if that was us in 21st that would not worry me as it would mean they had been relegated. Arrogant bastads.
Why would we need to raise our game? We were toss against Villa at Oakwell and still got a point courtesy of their flappy keeper. If we'd been remotely near our best we'd have got all 3. The only thing we should be wary of is our abominable record against them.
To be fair most of their fans dont think sides are raising their game and are of the view that they are just not very good which is why they are a bottom half team. got to laugh at them wanting to Play 4-4-2 - where have I heard that before their posters are a tad pessimistic about tomorrow - I guess they dont really know our record at Villa Park
Re: the Sheffield Wednesday of the Midlands Turn the clock back 2 weeks and our own fans were bigging up how MASSIVE villa were to me so I can only conclude they were correct and we are lucky to be allowed to face a team like that and look forward to our cup final tomorrow even after a well deserved loss at the hands of a superior club in every way.
I'm not going tomorrow, but what if our travelling fans belted out all the Hourihane songs, like he was still our player. It'd stun their fans into silence and put Conor off his stride. Be interesting to see his non-celebration too when he bangs their late consolation goal in to make it 3-1 to us.
Re: the Sheffield Wednesday of the Midlands They are a massive club compared to us. I don't mind accepting that. It is what it is. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
one fan expecting us to bring 500 fans, we had sold more than 1300 this morning. Not bad for Tuesday night. Probably would have been a lot more had we not had a shitty Jan window
We would have sold twice as many had it been Saturday at 3pm and more if it not been on valentines day I'll admit I darent make the trip I'd be in dog house for weeks.
I have to say that if you don't think Villa are a bigger club than Barnsley you must be on some good drugs.
ahah. the wife asked me if we were doing owt for valentines, I said Im off to villa with the kids . We never really do owt anyway to be honest. My so is 14, he been seeing a girl for about 8 months, he told here yesterday he was going to Villa, don't think she was too impressed especially when he said Barnsley was more important lol.
7 times English champions and 7 times FA Cup winners and 5 times League Cup winners 4th most successful team in English football lots of changes in January but Saturday was encouraging.

If they sing You`ve only come to see the Villa, a nice retort would be to sing We`ve only come to see our Conor.
Re: the Sheffield Wednesday of the Midlands I agree, which makes the fact we are competing with them (and above them in the league) a much more satisfying accomplishment.
