She has charisma, I'll give you that, but still doesn't in my mind explain the mass exodus from Labour in Scotland

Far from scared, she`s just Labour wrapped in a National flag.

The only answer I can give you would be,

Dissatisfaction with the Status Quo and looking for a creditable alternative. An alternative which puts Scotland first.

There has been the same mass exodus of faith in labour throughout the entire UK. The only difference between Scotland and the rest is a viable alternative. In England you make a decision to defect to the lib dems, Tories, ukip, green, independent, none of which really cut it for you, or to stay with labour even though you don't want to. In Scotland you choose to stick with labour or go to the almost identical but not disgraced SNP. When you look at it like that it is easy to see why the change is seen more markedly in Scotland than England but it doesn't mean the people of Scotland are any more disenfranchised from labour than those in England, only that the decision to switch is far easier for them

Mmm understand what you say, I have worked with many ex pat Scots and the one thing that stands out, and for which I greatly admire them for is their passionate nationalism, they have a great pride in where they come from and continue their traditions, this is admirable as its what I believe we all should be. So I can understand their need for a separate identity and their desire for independence. And as a side note they are the most generous of people. My mother was a Stewart, but alas I was not born there. Good luck to the Scots as I have a special love for them. And also the true kings of the Union are the Stuart's, not these usurper Windsors who are German Hanovarians and pretenders. So let them go and be independent, it's only right.

It will be a chaotic nightmare if that happens. I just can't imagine a coalition like this working and I think red Ed knows it.

Disagree there Ian, you guys are simply the most passionate people I ever met, I'm not a true Yorkie as I wasn't born there but grew up there from the age of 5. Tbh I hated it there but have to be loyal to the Tykes as I supported them in the 4th div on every home and away game. I guess I'm a nomad that would love a castle in Scotland :) you got to laugh....

But Red Ed will enter into some sort of coalition with the SNP just to enter No10.

You keep going on about the people of Scotland, referring to them as "us" etc. but quite simply those that you supported lost the referendum.

And now the 46% or so who want independence are voting SNP as a block in this election.

    That's it.

Growing up I was always told not to trust liars.

Voting for any of these cowboys therefore seems pointless and goes against what I've been taught. Whichever way you look at it we are all getting shafted in one way or another. Whether your red, blue, green, purple, orange or multicoloured it literally doesn't matter.

And the 55% who voted NO are now beginning to realise what a huge mistake they made. The desire for Independence since that referendum has never been greater.

Anyway this thread is not about Scottish Independence but how everyone will vote and their opinions of the outcome.

Mmmm...is it not obvious not to trust liars?

Who would ever tell you to trust liars?

The cowboys are but a reflection of society in general.

There just needs to be sufficient scrutiny of their activities, and sufficient of a system to remove them if necessary.

Ah lovely a pedant is here.

Of course it's obvious not to trust liars, learning to spot one however, is far more of an art form. Although the political parties make it easy as they dress their best liars up in suits with brightly coloured ties.

How do you scrutinise the activity of said cowboys though? Surely everyone has some political allegiance or other? It's like a set of bickering children that can't be brought to book purely because above them is just another layer of politically aligned bickering children. It's a vicious circle with no end.

Whichever way you paint it, I still stand by the point that no matter which party comes to power we'll all be snookered in one way or another.

    Mandy Rice-Davies to you.

    Lost lost lost.

    Still 46% wherever you look.

This thread may not be about your particular obsession but is weirder than Ed himself anyway, in that it speaks of "Reasons not to vote for Ed Milliband".

Who votes for a personality who may be the P.M. ?

You vote for your own member of parliament.

You vote for a party that reflects your preferences.

Who the hell votes for the leader of their political party?

There are only 5 million people in Scotland yet they're going to be able to dictate to the rest of the country which is hardly fair.

Remember too that Blair and Brown are also Scottish and they were both terrible PMs albeit in different ways.

I really wish that Scotland had got independence so the SNP can bankrupt their own country not England and Wales as well.
