I think you're wrong, but of course you're entitled to disagree. The Dr (you obviously know him) may or may not be a decent person in "real life" but he was an absolute attention-seeking nuisance on here, in my view and in that of loads of other posters. He deserves an indefinite ban, in my opinion of course.

I've lost count of the number of times that I've heard "Chill out, he/she's a real nice chap in real life, this is the internet, not real life". What utter ******. The internet is as much part of real life as anything else is. If you're a t**t on the internet, you're a t**t in real life as far as I'm concerned. Why do people believe they can behave badly on here just because it's "the internet"?

While I'm ranting, one more point. This is Gally's forum. It's not a democracy, free-speech is the norm but is not a right. If Gally thinks that someone is spoiling the forum, he'll ban them. He could ban people with big noses if he wanted. He doesn't have to give a reason or explain himself. He gives up a lot of time (along with other admin members) to run this place for zero benefit and loads of hassle. If you don't like it on here, you have 3 choices - join another forum, start your own forum, or stop going on forums.

Ultimately this isn't about LJ or football is it. Everybody knows DrZ offers praise when we play well, much like Saturday, and criticism when we play **** which has been the majority of the season, yes he was over the top before his first banning.

Its time to let it go mate.

If your dad's ban was based on what has gone on after he returned from his ban, then it is harsh. Personally i didn't want him banned. However i would imagine he is being judged on all his time here and the bad far out weighs the good and his ban along with thereev's is probably justified.

 

Then Hemsworth tyke for example should be banned.

Let's not pretend he's been a saint since he came back, he was still posting the same sort of stuff with only slightly less regularity:



He was nowhere near as bad as thereev, and I think he might have been alright if thereev wasn't around. It seemed that thereev set him off and he couldn't help joining in and having a go. But regardless of the reasons behind it, the result was that two posters were flooding the board with repetitive, witless crap despite having been warned.

 

Maybe a ceiling on the number of posts allowed by any one poster during a day would help?

Posting around a 100 posts a day whilst away on holiday is just feckin weird...

 

I could be in trouble too. We'll have to set up our own big nose forum.
