Lots of people making comments tonight on it.

For or Against.

Will Morgan get back in the team or will England drop him all together and go youth at number 4?

Duckett, Bairstow and Billings surely will be eyeing up that shirt for this and the future tours.

If they have genuine security concerns then I think they have the right to pull out but they risk losing their places in the team long term.

According to Micheal Vaughan might have wider repercussions.

England looking to rest certain players and that might not happen now.

What happens if Cook wants to stay at home for the birth of his second child? Can that even happen now?

I don't think it can. International cricketers are very well paid and being away from home is part of the deal. They could allow some leave of absence but only a few days. If he wants to miss the whole tour I'd expect him to lose his place permanently.

Absolute no brainer. They should be allowed to withdraw without prejudice.

If they want to withdraw then I think it's absolutely fair enough.

As long as it's an opportunity for someone to come in and play well and give the selectors options/headaches.

If someone scores a match winning total or skittles a load out, I'd expect them to have every chance/shout of retaining their place.

That said. Probably won't work like that.

Right decision for them. If they're not 100% comfortable then they can't go.

I dont think there is any issue with them withdrawing but they are taking a risk
Others will play instead and if they do OK they will keep their place and so Hales and Morgan will need to fight to get it back and they will be viewed less favourably than those who did go

Their choice though

Doesn't bother me. Hales has found a get out clause before he's dropped and i've never liked the idea of an Irishman playing for England nevermind being our captain. Hopefully his days are numbered. He's abit like Andrew Gale in alot of the time having patchy form and only getting in due to being captain.

that's fair enough though innit. they can't be guaranteed their place back. like any sport, if someone comes in and has a blinder, they will need to earn their place back.

If they have genuine security fears then it's in their right to withdraw and they shouldn't be criticised like they have been by people like that absolute clown Piers Morgan but they should also be told they have to play there way back in to the team

really Gally

On such a sensitive (Political and sporting) world issue really you have an Admin putting silly things like that.

It was really interesting to see what people thought until we had a muppet try and spoil things.

I know nothing about cricket as you know but it seems to me that two blokes have decided not to go somewhere where they feel their lives are at risk. I can't blame them at all for that.

Should they be punished? No
Should they lose respect? No
Should they get their place back in the team? Its exactly the same as if they were injured or simply had a bit of a cold on the morning of a match and missed it. If their replacements perform better then they don't come back in, if they don't then they do.

I was really pleased with how it was going.

Like I said above people putting their point about quite a politically strong sports tour for the ECB. This could have meant another country didn't have their number one sport played on the inational stage on home turf.

People will have different opinons on this. I'm not 100% sure what I think about it yet . I was hoping the squads were going to be released.

On a sporting matter, it could mean England are looking at 2 new openers for a mentally challenging tour on and off the pitch.
