Now then - we're doing another daft walk & this is probably our daftest of all.

On Friday 3rd March, we'll set off from Oakwell and arrive at Pride Park, Derby in time for kick off on Saturday 4th. The total distance is approx 55 miles over 2 days with an overnight stay in Chesterfield to add a bit of glamour to the event.

All people walking will have to sort their own digs out (a lovely Travelodge in Chesterfield) & travel back from Derby. We're also giving people the opportunity to do the second part of the walk with us from Chesterfield to the game. Let us know if you're interested.

If you fancy doing it please email weststandbogs@gmail.com so we can have a proper natter & sort details.

    You can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/West-Stand-Bogs

What a stupid idea but a fantastic cause. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK with 75% of all suicides in 2015 male. CALM looks to offer support & help for young men suffering in their time of crisis.

    Cheers x

I'd love to be part of this, but 1 day will kill my knees, let alone 2. I'll decide nearer the time if I can do one of the stretches (will depend on my daughter's fixture list). If I can get involved, I will. Top cause. :)

I'm sure you have thought of it, but I reckon for day 2 in particular you are going to need a support vehicle. For carrying bags, water stops etc.

this is the first one that I am certain I'll be able to do, due to work.
    You can count me in!!!
I think I may also take my car to pride park (if the club can offer some secure parking over 2 nights) to offer 4 people a lift back to Barnsley after the event!!

Aye, conscious of that. Gonna need to ideally get people's gear for the night from Barnsley to the hotel too so it's not being carried. Hopeful someone will volunteer to help us out on both accounts because Saturday is going to be absolutely disgustingly horrific.

Think I'll be up for it. Just trying to rally a couple of others.

Fantastic cause - I know I bit about CALM (sadly) and they do a fantastic job.

Should be able to help you out with dropping gear off on the Friday. Won't be able to do Saturday though. I'll still be leathered.

Nice one mate, knew you might come in handy after organising a doo on the Friday evening specifically to avoid this.

May not be your cup of tea musically, but Planet Rock presenter Wyatt Wendels is a supporter of this charity. he did a 1000 mile bike ride to raise money and I'm sure he would re-tweet, etc, to get to a wider audience. may even mention it on the radio.
