Why Aston Villa appear the only ones bidding for these two, apart from THAT lot who we refuse to do business with, right?

Only thing I can think of is no other club can compete on wages. Love Conor, but 28k a week is absolutely ridiculous. No wonder he wants to go there, he would be bonkers not to. Aston Villa make me sick to the stomach and hope they self destruct. It's not sour grapes, but it's just bad for football when an average club like them, based on results and league position, can chuck silly money around like that. Football has gone completely mad.

That's real life changing cash, assuming it's true of course.

I think we was always gonna be in this situation.

With us messing the whole contract situation up over the summer and then coming into this league and being absolutely brilliant, we've sold ourselves short.

I do believe we'll find another Winnall and another Bree and another Watkins and another Scowen (if the latter two were to leave) but Hourihane is irreplaceable at this moment.

Villa fans on Twitter complaining about their summer transfers and how they should have been able to assemble a squad to challenge for £50m.

I pointed out our starting XI against Leeds was probably about £1.5m :)

    It's nothing short of incredible.

Hourihane could walk into any team, including half of the Premier league teams, surely with the amount of money being spent the best player in the Championship must be attractive to more than a team placed 12th in the Championship.

There's nothing to say that others haven't made bids, it just seems to be Villa that are being very public about it. If you believe all you read then West Brom and Southampton have both tabled bids for Bree.

Business always seems to be done at the back end of the window.

Hecky said in his post match interview to Radio Sheffield on Saturday evening that he woke up on Saturday morning to 35 voicemails.

There are clubs who conduct their business in a more professional way than Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday. I suspect there are other clubs involved as far a Bree and Hourihane are concerned, it's just that we don't know about them. I cannot believe some big clubs are going to stand by and watch Aston Villa get one of the best full back prospects in the country for £4m.

To be fair their fans aren't happy on how much they're supposedly paying Lansbury and Hourihane if he goes, one was comparing it to Seth Johnson's move to Leeds. Totally overpriced wage wise, the pair of them.

I hope that's not correct, £3m for Bree? Another give away.

I can't believe Bree is going there. Badly advised imho.

I agree. I know some will point to the contract situation but he is under 24. What worries me more is not one single player has signed up again. Why not?

Plus we ain't bought anyone either, but accept that can change. What will happen to Marley and Josh and co now?

Fulham have also bid for Hourihane.

In fact the hold up in the deal was because Fulham had offered us more money for him than Villa had but Hourihane wants / wanted to join Villa so it was a case of Villa matching Fulham's bid which I'm guessing has now happened.

Several other championship clubs wanted Hourihane but can't get near Villa on wages.

    No idea on Bree.
