Doesn't look like him to me unless his skin tone has changed and he's had his hair cut short.

There's that. But it's one hell of a risk considering we're not expecting to go up. The plan for this season was to stay up and push for consolidation. Keeping Conor would strengthen that but wouldn't necessarily jeopardise it if he leaves either.

If we were say, Sheffield Wednesday, I think you could make that argument.

But as our strategy seems to be sign cheap, sell on for more, then I'm happy(ish) enough to let the likes of Bree leave for a high price and exchange a potential play off push for upper midtable for the time being.

Bfc, richest club in the league, but no players in the team.

Now is the time to secure him.

Agree with all of that but as Hecky says, we cannot lose sight of the fact that we are a football club and our primary job is to put out a team that is competitive.

What will be will be. Nowt I can do about it either way.

EDIT No, in fact I don't agree he's been subsidising my season ticket.

So saying that where does that leave us in aiming for a promotion push anytime ever?

I'd agree with you but if we finish 7th it might be seen as a bit daft. To get any sort of viable replacement for Conor is not going to be cheap.

I think the key will be the quality of replacements we bring in. If each iteration of new signings are better than the previous lot by the time they leave, then at some point we challenge for promotion. It might take 3 or 4 iterations.

I'm not saying whether the deal is good business or not, if for no other reason than we don't know what it is yet, but he wouldn't have walked away for nowt in the summer. Because of his age we would have been due compensation set by a tribunal unless a fee could have been agreed.

He hasn't been subsidising season tickets as far as I'm aware. Fair play to patrick for keeping the child st free going but still many other clubs in this league have alot cheaper season tickets. One thing he has done is keep the academy going so we can keep producing players like Bree and also put his own money in to buy players like conor, alfie Mawson and sam winnall.

He would be a fool to go at this stage of his development. If he was ambitious he would stay at the Club which has a chance of reaching the play offs where as were have shown before we can win. If he goes to Villa he is guaranteed to be in the Championship next season. It can only be for money. He is sacrificing his long term future for a quick buck.

We could get more for him if we keep him and develop him further.

Not only has the Brie gone, but we've already sold the Camembert and the aged Stilton is about to leave the door. Never mind though, there's some mouldy dairylea dippers at the back of the fridge we can live off till May.

You're the sort that expects us to be signing Fortnum & Mason potted blue Shropshire, when in fact we can only afford happy shopper cheese triangles.
