all the folk on here going spend this ,spend that ,do you not think its morally right to pay back our owner ,the family money he as invested in us,he is a poorly man, think I would want to leave as much to my family as I could, pray to God he gets well, but after his son was abused by fans ,during the bad run saying he was buying rubbish players and picking the team, he said then he didnt want to own the club did his son, think we need as much money in the bank as we can, to carry on trading over the future seasons, we have got a ready made right back in Yiadom, and lets hope we pick another gem up to replace conor ,at the end of the day a club with only 10500 season ticket holders cant turn millions down, ambition as to be paid for, thats why most of the country is up to their eyes in debt because they buy things they cant afford
The way we're going, he's gonna have to put more money in because if we keep on selling and not replacing, we'll be in League 1 again in a couple of seasons.
you cant own a top of the range car if you cant pay to run it, be thankful we got to see conor as long as we did, I will be as sad as anyone to see him go ,but he as grown to big a fish for our pond anymore
Personally, I think he's just trying to put the club in the best possible financial position to be self sustainable for the future. Who knows whats around the corner.
This. And legally, I believe that he has written his loans off so if he did want to take money out and it's his business if he wants to do that, I think he'd potentially have a large tax liability
He would have made even more millions if they'd had more faith in the squad. By not sorting any contracts that were in their final year, we were preparing for failure. It's bitten us on the bum. Think how much Winnall, Hourihaine, Bree, Watkins, Scowen, Davies and Roberts would be worth it they still had a couple of years left on their contracts instead of the peanuts we'll let them go for
What a stupid, base, senseless question. Barnsley and is fans owe him everything. It's priceless the things he has done for the club. If it wasn't for him remember w wouldn't have a club as such. He may not want any money back, but if he does them he is entitled to much more than he has personally put into the place...
but who was going to pay for all these improved contract payments, please can you put the betting slip up on here you must have put on at the seasons start, think we was 50/1 for promotion, sure you must have had a massive bet on us, risking going broke as you had such faith in the squad
We're not even bringing in a '**** car' to replace him nevermind a 'top of the range' car. I'll be playing in the middle of midfield next week.
a, he has not officially been sold yet b,the under 23 captain is a decent midfielder ,Jared Bird, why should he not get a chance to shine?
Didn't Patrick say he'd only take his money back, were the club to be sold or gain promotion to the premier league?
Yep, as I recall a few years back when the sale of the club was in the news - the asking price was £1m, with £6m to be paid if/when we got to the Premier League. That £1m was just for the football club business, not stadium and land etc. Stand correcting on the figures though, that's all from memory.
I didn't think we'd be in top 8 but neither did I expect us to be relegated with teams like Burton, Rotherham, Blackburn and Preston in the same league. As I said, we planned for failure. Selling Winnall for 5 million instead of £500000 would have paid for improved contracts and would have guaranteed top dollar for Bree, Watkins, Hourihaine, Scowen, Roberts, Davies or anyone else about to leave this summer.
