Is the benefits bill for London according to the Evening Standard, and we wonder why pay increases aren't given to the police, nurses et al. This figure is greater than the defence budget!

Bet most of that is WTC/Housing benefit.

This is the problem when buy to let landlords start robbing from the state.

Wages being topped up because of low pay etc. accounts for a good deal of that.

    But if you want stats...

£93 billion - The amount of taxpayer money the Conservatives gave to businesses via direct aid, subsidies and tax breaks in 2012/13.

The interest on the national debt greater than the defense budget (£35.1b). Next years interest payments are estimated to be £55.8b.

Yes - I was getting a bit kiddy there.
Thought it referred to the wealth of the new owners.
    It would be nice.

A huge amount will be spent on pensions or pension credit. Relatively little will be unemployment benefits or "scroungers".

The vast majority 80 plus percent goes to those in work (if we paid living wage woukd dramatically decrease) on Housing Benefit (if we started to build social housing would decrease) and pensioners ( bound to get worse under Brexit now we are getting rid of net contributors) very little goes on tge unemployed and unemployable.

    Is a number.

Your wind up posts bore the living sh1t out of me. Go and make love to a blow up doll of Theresa May, before the wind goes out of your sails.

    Predictable left-wing "whataboutism" response.

That is a huge amount and only for London, God knows what the cost is for the whole country, I'm amazed the Welfare State isn't totally bankrupt.

All well and good saying that but it is an easy to say that £36 Billion is spent on welfare without breaking down what that money is spent on. Instead it's taken that it's all spent on layabouts and wasters.

Yes but some people are taking about business subsidies and the national debt and that's not what's being discussed.

"There's a huge immigrant welfare bill"

"Yes but what about businesses dodging tax?"

It's pure whataboutism and deflection and it's more than a little boring, address the actual issue.

Do you think we should end all payments to pensioners then?

How do I know, it's London so it will be a lot of the total.

Seen from Grenfell how most of council properties go to immigrants and minorities in that city.

But you've just claimed that it is money spent on immigrants and bemoaned anyone who has said that figure is likely made up in numerous ways.
