Boycotted the Chelsea away game in our premier year because they were charging kids full adult price.
So Premier League away ticket prices are capped at £30, but Championship clubs can charge more, and Bolton charge that for Sheff Utd! Caps should be all the way down: £30 for PL £25 for Champ £20 for L1 & 2
Fully agree - how can anyone justify charging more to away fans in the second division than anyone has to pay for a top tier clash
Those caps sounds sensible to me. On the flip side it probably means that clubs would never charge less than those prices.
Remember some Barnsley fans paid £15 to a non league ground for a friendly So £40 + must be value for money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll wait until I see our own pricing and membership scheme (you never know) before I lay into others. Although I think it's fair to say football supporters are taken for mugs. It'd never happen, but imagine all fans in unison, boycotting their particular match on a selected Saturday. Not one supporter at any game in the country. Like I say, it'll never happen.
It cost me £19 on Tuesday travel included. I got to chat with players and staff, stood on the terraces watching BFC with Winnall for 20 odd minutes. It was sunny, local and the money went to a struggling, local non league club. I don't think it's fair to compare that with Sheff Wednesday, mega-rich Sheff Wednesday charging pay on the day supporters £40. I'll be there regardless. I spend ridiculous amounts of money on watching BFC. I can't get to every game, not even close, so I can afford to pay a bit more for certain games I am able to attend. I do agree though that prices are disgusting and summat needs doing about it. But not enough of us are arsed enough to make a stand. Much easier on a Tuesday at Guiseley than it will be a Tuesday at Hillsborough with things riding on it...
I'm expecting a membership scheme. Very similar to the one that Don Rowing implemented. Pay a small fee which gets you a fiver off each game. So instead of £30 it'll be £25 for reds fans. Meaning we can still fleece the away fans. Sounds ******* disgusting, but it is what it is.
I loved it when members of the Supporter's Trust got £5 off tickets for a £10 joining fee. I went to way more games that season than I had before and managed to bring along 6 different people who'd never been to a match before, plus got my dad to attend more. I also was able to drag the husband along as it was a tenner cheaper than it would have been for both of us otherwise. It ironically meant we actually spent a little more in total than we would have as we bought 2 tickets rather than one. (2 tickets at £15 each so spent £30 whereas I would have otherwise spent £20 and gone by myself as we didn't want to spend £40 but we could look at is as if his ticket was only a tenner, therefore half price and I got company).
And I think by being a member (was it 'club 1887' or summat?) you got priority for cup tickets and what not. Behind season ticket holders etc obviously. It's the implementation that I could foresee being an issue though at this late stage. Unless they've been planning this all along. Because I'm assuming you'd need a membership card and it would be scanned at the gate? Else, you could just show them it but then it'd need your face on or summat. Not exactly sure how these things work. I still think a 10/15 game flexi season ticket would have been perfect. Priced a little higher than regular season tickets but less than matchday prices. The price of our season tickets are spot on. If you can use them at least 13 times/games.
The club 1887 was a separate scheme, I'm not sure how that worked but the Supporters Trust one worked like a discount code I think so you didn't have a different card or ticket, it just took £5 off the price off each ticket when booking (you selected the group category when buying rather than adult). When you joined they sent you a link which then applied the discount to your account for the rest of the season.
How about this which I posted a few months ago ? http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?240902-Super-6-pass&p=1814211#post1814211
I'm still waiting (2 years) for a bloody card from the supporters trust to say I'm a member. Bloody @Gally. In all seriousness, Paul - how much is full membership this year? Is renewal automatic or what?
