Young Brown played very well. Ugboots did ok but like you say, lightweight. Couple of decent touches. Payne? Struggled to understand if he was a fast man or a target man. If it was the latter, he should have played a bit with Bradders. My favourite forward is Bradders but **** me we can't chuck him on every week to run about like a headless chicken. Did he actually touch the ball?

Hard to be too harsh in a friendly though. Quick thoughts on the rest .......
Davies. Superb, including a worldy. Slow starts last 2 seasons but looked ready for the off.
    Yids. Class. Some outrageous turns.
Gus. Quiet but steady. Didn't do much wrong.
Liam L. Superb on the deck, 2 great tackles. Would have liked to see him win a couple of headers.
Zeki. Certainly looks up for it. A few nervy moments but worked well with Hammill
New lad. Look assured in first half
Mowatt. Looks in great shape but lacking confidence. Made himself available but then chose wrong option. Head dropped.
George. Lively, always looking to get forward. Quick in thought, some nice passes.
Adam H. Put a shift in, that's for sure. One cracking effort.
    Payne. Dunno, see above
    Ugboots. See above
Mallan. Didnt really get into it. First time I've seen him
    Bradders. See above
Brown. Great performance. Best of the top lads.

Lots of "will he won't he" talk about Payne and Bradshaw, but maybe Brown could nip in between them and be the surprise package this season?

I have my doubts about Bradshaw. As you say, works very hard and unselfishly but there are games when he doesn't get a shot away.

I know I bang on about Payne, but for all his rawness I think there is more to come from him. I feel the chances will come his way more frequently than Bradshaw.
