First of many I suspect. I'll be happy if we keep it respectable today, bearing in mind our threadbare defence.

Sounds like Elder is getting absolutely torn to shreds

By all accounts Kevin Donovan would stand a reasonable chance of tearing Elder to shreds.

By all accounts Jason Donovan would.

Elder is by far the weakest full back we have had in my lifetime and we've had some bad ones.

I've not seen much of Elder to be honest. Is he in the Paul Gibbs league of shiteness?

I'd back myself to get past him and I haven't played football since I retired from the work team in 2002

He is worse than Paul Gibbs

    Paul Gibbs (G)
    Tom Kennedy (K)
    Scott Wiseman (W)
    Callum Elder (E)

    E= G/(KxW)

I've only seen him play a couple of times (QPR away and burton at home) but he looked poor in both games. Hard to say if he's as bad as some of the useless twits we've had but by all accounts sounds like he's having a mare again today, against an admittedly top side.

It's so sad how our season has finished. 60 points and a plus goal difference both looked like happening when both are all too rare at this level. Now we will see neither. Plenty have let us down and need to look at themselves so same mistakes both on and off the field don't happen again.

It's amazing and depressing how much we relied on Sam and Conor.

I think we might be fared a little better had we had all of Yiadom/Hammill/Robbo available since February though

A shocking second half to the season.

I don't think we'd have been much better. It would still have been (and often was) 1 up front from the moment we reached the magic 50 points that we set our sights on every year

It's rarely been 1 up top.

Very much so. Also shows how much they made decent players look better when you see how many people have had a big dip in form since those two left. Should have finished in the top half comfortable. But then you win one at home all year you will drop off.

Thank goodness the season has ended. The defeat away to Derby County effectively ended our season as i think it left us 8 points off the play offs. Since then it's been a long, drawn out end of season with a depleted squad battling away but sadly lacking the quality needed to cement a top half finish. No shame in losing today. It was the succession of home draws that tested my paitence. But it's over now, we're safe and must move on to securing as many of our summer transfer targets as quickly as possible in order to hit the ground running next season..

I'm not one who tries not to write a player off so quickly but villa away when we took elder off at half time effectively won the game for us
