11 on target. 3 goals and all away from home. ‘Kinell that’s **** hot by anyone’s book. Even for this ale house division.
‘ALE HOUSE KLAXON!!!!!!’ Sorry, I’m not having this. Nothing wrong with this league. Sure, you always aspire to rise up, but some of the football in this league, from us and others, has been brilliant. Can’t remember a more exciting season watching tarn since King Ronnie in his pomp. To have three sides up top putting those long unbeaten runs together, with another half dozen snapping at our heels is amazing. Give me the choice of a season of struggle in the Championship or another one like this and I’d take League One every time.
That's one of the best shots per on target ratio I've seen. Normally around the 17 to 20 mark with 4 or 5 on target.....well done reds.
We were comfortably on top throughout, but first half, and last 25 minutes of the match we looked like we could have walked it in at will. We had a spell towards the end where Moore could have scored three, Letheren pulled off two worldys from Mama and Bahre, Woodrow had a couple of chances, as did McGeehan and Brown / Styles had their defender on toast with bursts into the box. It was a joy to watch and a 7 or 8 goal score would not have been a fluke. My arms are burnt today, as is my nose, and I'm bloody tired, but a great weekend. I agree with @Micky Finn that to have 5 sides, all potentially on mid-80 points, and only three will possibly go up, is testament to how good this division has been this year. PS. Plymouth were poor. But you can only beat what is in front of you, and from Cauley's first effort we just never allowed them to get into it.
2016 Wigan were already promoted on 84 points. Were not even guaranteed promotion on 88 points, same with Luton 90 points.. Its crazy
Why is it that..... When you want a game involving us or our opponents to end there's ALWAYS 7 minutes minimum of injury time. See Sunderland yesterday or when they equalised the other week in about the 10th minute added on. When we're battling relegation we need a record points total to stay up...see Flitcroft's great escape Or when we're fighting for automatic promotion you need a shedload of points above the norm to do it. Just occasionally it would be nice to do things easy.
To be fair last season we could've stayed up with a pathetic 43 points if we weren't absolutely *****.
To have 5 sides, all potentially on mid-80 points, and only three will possibly go up, may well simply be testament to how many crap teams there are in this division, all getting beaten by the top teams. Like the Prem. PS Plymouth were indeed poor, but they were doing as much as us until we scored. Then they folded. Might have been a different game if they'd scored first. Just saying.
