Shouldn't have been a free kick according to comms but poor keeping. Deserved though tbf, been poor listening to this and Blackpool have ramped it up and been impressive this half.
why did we even think of making all these changes.... this could totally rock the boat.... however lets jut hope its a wake up call to tell them they are not invincible.... but also its money down the tubes too.
Annoying that Stendel changed half the side instead of taking a cup run seriously. But we will have learned a lot tonight such as our fringe players aren't good enough and Walton isn't competition for Davies.
Whether he was impeded or not it shows his inexperience that he managed to carry the ball out of the area and conceded a free kick, from which they scored. He looked good at the end of last season but I don't think he's ready to replace Davies.
Not at all annoying, bit disappointing to lose, but the bigger picture is more important. Moncur and Adeboyejo had to start for me, I think Moore is injured anyway.
A warning not to go down the route of making unnecessary changes in the league like we did last season.
Error-strewn night by the sounds of it (I'm not there, but the commentary tells me that it's the polar opposite of Saturday's performance). I know some will say they don't care, but I hate to see us lose any match, anywhere.
Nope. Have no interest in a cup run this year. No distractions wanted or needed. Promotion is all we need. I’d much rather us put all our eggs in one basket and go out of each cup in the first round this year. Less distractions, less games being rearranged, players less tired.
Being poor in the league cup and fa cup in recent years never distracted us from a relegation battle year after year. Would have been nice to earn the chance to play higher league clubs and keep the unbeaten run going. Can see 2-3 loans this month as strength in depth isn't there like some would have us believe.
You can’t really say how it affected players in terms of tiredness or how it disrupted plans in terms of rearranged fixtures. A cup run is a completely needless luxury when so much rides on us getting promoted. We don’t have the squad to be playing an extra 5-10 games over 2-3 different cup competitions. I’ll take getting knocked out at the first hurdle of each please!
Agree with this, read some people on here recently say we will win the league at a canter but tonight's 2nd half performance and end result is a reality check. Stendel will now know he can't rely on these fringe players to come in and do a job. Expect 2-3 loan players to be brought in.
I don't think you can tell that those brought in tonight aren't good enough, just because we lost, any more than you can tell where we're going to finish in the league after the results against Oxford and Bradford, just because we won. We didn't play well this evening by the sounds of it, particularly in the second half, but it doesn't necessarily mean the players selected are crap, it's just one game. We played very well in the previous two games, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're definitely going to win promotion, it was only two games. We're still in mid August, we don't know yet what's going to happen and we don't know yet which players are going to do well this season. I have reservations about our promotion credentials, for lots of reasons, but none of those are based on the loss tonight.
