After Shrewsbury away tomorrow. 5 home games ont trot. Wonder if the club will offer free entry to one if not both of the checkatrade matches. I'm expecting to see replies of not going. No need we've seen it all b4.
I can never understand why it goes up on the day if the game. Can anybody give me a reasonable answer why?
So they have a better idea how many police, stewards, matchday programmes, food, drink etc that they need. If it didn't have a price increase there would be no need to sell in advance and then everything would be guess work as to how much of stuff they need on the night.
However did they manager back in the 70s/80s when the Clarke/Hunter bandwagon was rolling and 15-20,000 were turning up and MOSTLY paying on the gate? Hard to fathom it.
Stewarding and policing were less issues back then. Difference between 15-20k back then minimal. Difference between 4K and 10k these days is massive. I back the club on this fully - it’s no different to buying stuff upfront for a bit of a discount.
That's what I mean. When we have a discount it should stay the same price untill the turnstiles shut.
Its already been established that food and drink is nowt to do with the club. Programmes are printed well before advance ticket sales end too so the only thing really that is affected is police and stewards and from what I could gather from my conversation with the safety guy a while ago that is also calculated in advance using police intelligence based on previous games, Internet message boards etc. I'm also not convinced that anyone is call g the police and stewards along mass at midnight on a Friday to tell them if they are working the following day.
My main point, I agree Terry , I Think the club, especially at this match could give free entry to season ticket holders . Or everyone.
