If the judgement had been balanced they would have gotten around 4 yellows... We aren't a dirty side!
I couldn't argue with any of the decisions that lead to cards and thought we were lucky to keep Halme on the pitch. Definitely an argument that Wigan could have received more cards though.
There's players struggling to adapt to the division and/or playing out of position. This causes misjudgements and bookings. Then there's the silly yellow cards Mallik Wilks gets.
We always have a lot of fouls and cards against us so far this season. Either its young players being more naive or too aggressive. Something else they need to learn....
Williams had to go for his challenge and Willks deserved his booking for blatantly kicking the ball away. Wigan should have had as many bookings as us, especially Moore with his striker challenge he got away with.
Dreadful challenge by Williams today. Luckily he didn't cripple anyone and he'll learn from it, hopefully.
Young uns need to learn that side of the game quickly hopefully DS and the rest of the coaching staff will drill it into them
Apart from the 3 game ban, I thought the challenge for Williams’ sending off was fantastic. I’d have gone for that one every day of the week when I played.
Jay loves the ref I agree mind . We were fairly dirty today I just felt they deserved a few cards more.
I don't mind us getting stuck in and picking up bookings and suspensions our squad is balanced enough to cope, we can't be pushovers and that's in all aspects of the game and club.
We are quite a physical side this year & with a lot of inexperienced players. We need that physical aspect to our game. We will get bookings & suspensions, that is inevitable. The more worrying thing for me is the number of injuries that we are picking up to be honest. Maybe that is bad luck, but maybe too we are having to push players too hard at times in ine aim of getting this young squad up to speed.
I wonder if they're really tearing into each other in training? Some of the injuries seem to happen when we're not playing.
The Williams tackle was late and in today's game its not acceptable.. He didn't make contact with his boot ( luckily for the player on the receiving end of it ) it was his body on the follow through that clattered and upended their player making it look worse than what it was... ( fans of all teams have seen a lot worse than that tackle which have either gone unpunished or just seen a yellow) whilst it was late it wasn't that bad in the grand scheme of things even their manager from what I've seen of the incident didn't react in anger instead he ushered his players away and calmed his players down thus diffusing the situation... So credit to him... If it had been as bad has some would have you believe I think we would have see a total different reaction from the Wigan bench... In my day (uncle Albert remember the war lol) that sort of tackle happened that regular it was seen often and accepted for being part of the game... The ref blew sometimes and you got a free kick...or not... Either way you got the cold water magic sponge treatment rubbed your leg and got on with it until you got chopped down again.. Then.. t.. watted the culprit and got sent off if you were unlucky to be seen.. Lol the joys of Sunday league.. Lol
